If it takes 900/- for full charge which is equivalent to filling 12 liters of petrol considering the price of petrol 75/- per litre. Now if a petrol vehicle gives a mileage of 20 in best case scenario it will run for 240km. Meanwhile this vehicle here has a range of 420km and it might return upto 350km of mileage in full charge. That means it's cost effective plus environmental friendly. I wish they had priced it as per middle class requirements. It can meet you requirements in daily city condition if you run 50km a day it will easily manage it in full charge for a week.

It also has regenerative breaking so it can charge the battery upto 30% while driving... So Running cost will definitely come down... Plus no moving part and multiple filters like in Deisel or Petrol engine. 3 yrs unlimited kms warranty for Motor and 8 yrs for Battery... Basic service required mostly after every 50k kms. So in 5 yrs you can recover about 50% of the cost.

milind shetty 39.2 kWh battery + ~15% inefficiency (at max) comes to around 45 kWh. 1kwh = 1 unit. 1 unit is around ₹6-₹8 in India. So a full charge at home should cost around ₹360. (at max)

Great review except couple of points. 1 : the small light inside Hyundai logo is an auxiliary light which turns orange,it's not a 360 degree camera. 2 : VESS button stands for "Virtual Engine Sound System" which makes a slight humming noise for pedestrians to realise there's a car coming (since EVs are completely silent) and has nothing to do with stability control. 3 : Rgenerative braking does NOT apply brakes. It's just like engine braking. 4 : Internationally Kona gets 64kWh pack variant along with 39.2kWh one.

Cross Over for 25 Lakhs !!!! LOL..... Hi Gagan, just say me how many people ( upper/above middle class ) will stick to same car after 5 years of use ??? They don't get bored what ? Imagine which is better: Take Jeep Compass or Equivalent for 20Lakhs. I do still have 5lakhs in hand, which I am gonna use it for fuel 'petrol/diesel' for next 5 years. After 5 years no one knows what will be the strategy, right...... At least my RC would be valid for 10 years. For diesel and 15 years for peteol' ..... I can resale it and buy a new technology car after 5 years............. OR Spend 25Lakhs +3Lakhs for Registration etc etc now itself and after 5-8 years, if my mood changes to upgrade, should I stick on to it or get rid of it...... Of course, No doubt that EV will get good resale value in future, but why I need to put the extra 8 L now it self for an cross over and face charging station problems....... Don't know even after 8 years what would be the battery cost to replace entire setup in the vehicle........
