Sure enough, I had the passenger side sensor mounted upside-down. It slides on either way. The flat side of the plastic piece that snaps on should be facing down, the rounded side facing up as you lower it into the tank. I don't know why I paid more attention to the orientation on the driver's side - it went so smoothly I got overly confident apparently. Anyway, the good news is I finally have a working gauge after a couple years of trip odo'ing it.

Trip’odoing it. I am stealing that. I did quite a bit of that recently, bought a Santa Fe with a failed fuel level sensor. That’s the only way to guess how much fuel you have. And compare what you took to how much you put back when you refill it gives you a good estimation on your fuel consumption. Especially if you look at how much gallons you put in you can do the math since this is a 19.8 gallons tank. The easier and most effective way of knowing how much fuel you have though is to buy the parts at a cheap price and do the job yourself. And have a working gauge again

i’m having the same issue. My needle won’t go past half tank when i put gas && the battery dies when i’m down fulling it.. where did you get the parts?

I’ve got the same case (same car, same error codes) but also the car has hard time starting. Do you thing it could be a failing fuel pump?

Yeah, I wonder if I could test the fuel pressure with OBD tool when it runs and see if the pressure stays in the normal range? Is OBD tool capable of doing that in this car?

I just replaced both tonight. Started up and no more code but gauge showed 1/4 tank and should have been at least half. Went and filled up and gauge is only half. I'm thinking after some reading, the float on the driver side can get caught up on tube in the tank. Would you venture to guess it is that vs a bad part?

Could be. Are they factory parts or aftermarket? Check all connections also.

@@GarageWorx Thanks for the quick reply. I did not use oem parts. Rock auto. I have a feeling I may have somehow installed the passenger side one the wrong direction. I remember it wasn't going in very smoothly. I'll pull it back out tomorrow.

Mine it’s a 08 limited AWD. I saw in your videos you are from an snow area. May be yours it’s AWD too. I have and issue with a noise coming from rear. Only heard from 0 to 5miles when u drive left or right. Never heard going straight . It’s a hard knock 2 or 3 times. Bushings that hold differential are really bad. I don’t find a video talking about or find replacement. Will be really helpful if u have experience in that.

@@m.ibarra3427 Yup, mine is AWD. Haven't experienced any noise like that. If bushings are bad, get them replaced. Could be wheel bearing? Has the rear end oil ever been changed? I'll have a video coming up on how to do that.
