For me, I’d go the CX-30 because I think the CX-30 is more athletic and fun to drive on a country road, but I understand that isn’t everyone’s priority. The Tucson is bigger, more practical and offers a much better choice of engines. Both are worth test driving - along with other options like the Skoda Karoq (underrated) and of course the excellent RAV4 Hybrid.

Nice vid. Any thoughts in comparison to the Kia Sportage. Being some what a better looker, the Kia that is. Id value you view, although I guess it depends if you have sampled one.

I have driven a couple in the last few years, though we’re definitely overdue for a Sportage video here on the channel. The two big things that come to mind are (a) the Tucson’s base atmo engine is better than the Kia’s non direct-injected one, and (2) you can’t get the turbo petrol with the Sportage here in Australia. The diesels are the same. I did also think the Sportage was the more family friendly car because it has two USB ports in the back (as well as air vents), and I agree the Kia is slightly better looking. The Kia’s also a little softer. Naturally, though, there are more similarities than differences given the cars are closely related.

@@chasingcars The diesel engines are great engines in the Kia/ Hyundai line ups. Nice design. But I've never thought about the weight factor penalty using the diesel option. If and when I sample the twins Ill think about that point of view of yours on the weight factor. Mind Ill be looking the somewhat older ones on the market. Cheers for your early reply.

How the Tucson transmission compare to Tiguan?

I actually think Volkswagen have got their DSGs to the point where they feel natural and smooth (to me) in the Tiguan. That said, I have spent more time driving dual clutch transmissions than most people, so perhaps I am used to them. I found the torque converter in this diesel Tucson to be pretty slushy and uninspiring.

Chasing Cars, if you are going to drive right over the top of centre road double lines (7:20) it might be best to edit the evidence out of the video.

It’s a very quiet suburban street with a big rise and poor visibility out of shot. The road lines are inappropriate for the location and safe drivers would reasonably manoeuvre their car to see vehicles entering from an adjacent side street. I’m sure you meant well with your comment.

I think the facelift upped the flair, with the floating screen and stitched dash pad, but it’s especially plain looking in the black colour scheme. Prefer the beige.

Hyundai and Kia are the best brands for regular drivers, reliable and good in most areas. For the enthusiast there’s the Kia Stinger or Hyundai N models. I will say though that the interior in that Tucson is painfully boring, has nothing versus Mazda

I think I said that about soft materials - Tiguan has a lot of hard plastic. Tucson feels a little more plush in certain areas. But it’s close.

This is the best crossover ever. And I have always desired one. But I can't buy it anymore as it's been discontinued and I don't like the design of the new Tucson. Old is gold in this case.

De slechtste auto ooit. In februari 2020 gekocht en na 1500km problemen. nu een jaar later nog geen oplossing gevonden. Schokken en de snelheid van 120km/u naar 30km/u. Staat nu 3 maanden in de garage, zij vinden geen oplossing. Zij lachen ons vierkant uit.
