It's not on long drive only ..It's gear shift indicator..that you need to now shift dear to 4 or 5

The colours are linked to the drive modes. You cannot select a colour manually.

It tells you the current mileage as you are driving. For example, the moment you rave up the engine, the bar shrinks towards the left, and when you go with a light foot, with lower rpm, the bar moves towards the right indicating that you are driving efficiently to gain the mileage. Hope it helps.
