Hi! I'm planning a trip to AZ in a few months for the first time. Initially, I wanted to make Sedona my base, but I'm thinking about staying in Phoenix and doing a day trip to Sedona. I'm not sure yet. Everyone tells me that renting a car is necessary. Do you have any thoughts? It's a solo trip.

There are shuttles that go there but you need a car in Sedona to get around and see the good stuff. So, would agree that a rental is necessary. The drive is amazing from Phoenix.
