nterstate 20 (I-20) is a part of the Interstate Highway System that spans 1,539.38 miles (2,477.39 km) from Reeves County, Texas, to Florence, South Carolina. Within the state of Louisiana, the highway travels 189.84 miles (305.52 km) from the Texas state line west of Greenwood to the Mississippi River, which it crosses into Vicksburg, Mississippi.
I-20 traverses the northern portion of the state, serving the metropolitan areas of Shreveport-Bossier City and Monroe, as well as the smaller cities of Minden and Ruston. It entirely parallels the older U.S. Highway 80 (US 80) corridor through Louisiana. The route is mirrored by I-10, which traverses the southern portion of the state. The two are connected by I-49, the state's major north-south Interstate Highway.

Thanks a lot. When I was little, I had to go on trips to the Shriners hospital in Shreveport for surgeries on my legs. I remember this segment of I-20 very well.

Growing up, I looked forward to seeing the I-220 sign....it meant that we weren't far from our destination. The section of I-20 in Shreveport needs a lot of work.

We drove I 20 from the split off I 10 in Texas to Colombia SC. The stretch through Shreveport was BY FAR the worst. Dangerous! 😠
