No actually, if the parts are maintained well there is no limitations to number of prints. Only wear and tear

People didn't understand what he meant by the "saving" part, it is not just a use case for one thing, there are multiple parts that we get replaced for hundreds if not for thousands on regular basis to get things fixed. So, as the ink jet printers became common accross most of the households, this will too become the future of fixing things as an easy DIY solution rather than spending thousands in service centres.
