Having taken this route about 75 times (honestly) in my lifetime - I dread this road. Does not look too bad in this video, but in reality is Still only 2 lanes in many places, is bumper to bumper at high speed for hour after hour - nerve wracking and dull ! Meanwhile Switzerland has the most beautiful railroads in the world :)

Nice video, although I find it weird that Oregon and Washington State don’t have concrete roads anywhere, not even on the bridges.

Huh? Interstate Five in Seattle is made of concrete. If you look at this document (wsdot.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2024-03/Statewide-Highway-Log-2023.pdf), and scroll to the right until you see "RDY W/S", there will be a number and a letter. The number indicates the width of the road (in feet), and the letter indicates the road surface type (A = Asphalt, B = Bitumen, C = Curb, G = Gravel, and P = Concrete).

The bridge between Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA is so outdated and it needs to be replaced. Good thing there's a bridge of the 205 which is up to date. Others follow the Columbia River to Longview while driving across the CSA of Portland when crossing the river.
