a couple tips for this game jerry, not all intractable items are used for a puzzle and the best way to know which ones are used and which ones are trash is to check if there is a symbol next to there name on the top of the screen, there are 3 different symbols that mean the item is used for a puzzle the first is a key symbol which means that you can directly use the item in a puzzle the second is a book meaning it has some kind of riten code that is used for a puzzle and lastly a box which means it contains something needed to solve a puzzle

Fun fact in the campaign of escape academy the timer actually is how much time you have to complete the room in some rooms source the campaign level where you have to escape a room that is flooding before you drown
