You know, Dead Branch runs remind me how missed of an opportunity not making Master Reality a colorless card is. Every character could benefit from it to some degree or another. Clad can Dual Wield stuff, Silent has Shiv-nanigans, Defect has Creative AI, and Watcher's Rare pool becomes a little more consistent while still retaining access to it.

Random thought: Does anyone else think that banana and donut should be swapped? Donut gives you a burst of energy (life) now, but no benefits in the long term, banana gives you not much life in the short term, but is the healthier option for the longterm?

The [Omamori] pickup in lieu of the [Sapphire Key] was such a reminder that this game is about _actual_ decision making in real-time and not reflexively relying on previously drafted, one-size-fits-all solutions. Monkey brain click blue key every time here because "Hey I already calculated this before".

Act 4 is like that, but it's particularly bad on the Heart Fight. Imagine if instead of beat of death, that instead the end boss attacked you for an extra 20 if you didn't play at least 6 cards on your turn.

Does dead branch work with prismatic shard- does it make cards from all colours? And does it work with watchers master reality? It makes shives upgraded, but does it make a dead branch created cards upgraded too?

Dead Branch does work with Master Reality as I understand it, but doesn't work with Prismatic Shard.

As the above comment said, it does work with Master Reality; dead branch cards are cards created in combat. You can only generate your class cards, however, shard only changes card reward options. So power/attack/skill potions cannot generate out of class cards with shard either.

I dont understand: I played this seed (before watching this video). I had the same start (card choice etc.), but not the same relics. I'm using "rng fix" mod. How is that possible? Is there an event that changes the relic outcome?

Did you take the same path? If not, you might get a slightly different relic outcome because you get relics of different rarities than what Baalor got. Do you have unlocks left? If you haven't unlocked all relics, that can impact it too.

@@Baalorlord I think that I took a different path (don't remember exactly), but typically never got that toxic egg nor the gremlin horn. I got centenial puzzle + Ink bottle instead. I may have messed up with rngfix somehow (first time I'm using it), I don't know how though. I have no unlock left. EDIT : same issue occured with this week's seed, same card reward & cie, but not the relics. Should be related with RngFix not being applied or smthing...

Yeah, that does seem to be an issue with rngfix. Or maybe you are running another mod that impacts the rng beyond just rngfix?

Not required, but if you're looking for damage, 1 energy for 12 damage or 16 upgraded is a good rate. And synergizes well with other relics (Ornamental Fan, Kunai, Shuriken, Nunchaku, Ink Bottle) and Silent cards (After Image, Finisher, Thousand Cuts, Terror). Just bear in mind, if your deck is very card-spammy, it will ALWAYS give you Time Eater in Act III (not really, it'll just feel like it). Good luck on your runs!

As the person said it synergies with a lot of things, including stuff like strength and the boot. Or orange pellets giving you an attack and skill for 1 energy. It can also be good with calc gamble filling your hand with more cards to discard if you need to dig deeper.

Not a must, it does make certain fights harder. It will often (unless your damage amplification is huge) make Time Eater harder, it's a little rough if you draft more than 1 against nob, it can make chosen/chosen+1 much harder, and without after image it can make beat of death really hard to deal with. I think dagger throw, predator and dash are your premium floor 1 takes, but blade dance is so much better than strike that you can't be too unhappy with it.

Silent can win primarily with card spam (with Blade Dance as a key card), poison, and discard/draw engines. The card spam is powerful up front, but can really struggle against time eater and the heart. The ninja relics and dead branch really fuel the build. You'll note he still almost died to slime boss before getting synergies going.

You’re essentially losing 3 draws your first time through the deck for relics that might not do much.

@@ogolthorp This is exactly it. Because you don't know what relics you're getting it it could end up giving you an unremovable curse for nothing. I took one after Hexaghost where I got a Boot, Bottled Flame, and Girya (in a deck that was already full poison by the end of Act 1). The game has a sense of humor lol.

You can check in the run history linked in the video description! Dead Branch made a total of 380 cards. That's 22 per combat, or 5 per turn!
