I Accidentally Bought a 1974 Fiat 126!

We went on holiday doing our Skoda trip with the IFA Wartburg Trabant Club... and then we accidentally bought a Fiat 126 that had turned up on Fiat Forum. One of those cars you see come up, quietly enquire about, and it all works itself out... everyone else has that happen all the time... right? Right... enjoy! This is going to be a great little car!

Wow, a very early one! Not original, but I'd suggest fitting one of the later lockable rear bonnet latches - yours is definitely early if it doesn't even have the lock! A Polish friend told me they fitted the lockable latches once cars started to be built in Poland because in Commie Poland, parts were expensive and hard to come by for the average person, so people would often steal maintenance parts like belts and spark plugs to keep their own cars going! he has a '99 126p ELX. I'm hoping to import one to Nova Scotia sometime in the next few years - LOVE the little things, but they were never sold here. :)

Thanks Kody! Yes it has the opening latch with no lock! The car is garaged and I’ll hope nobody steals my spark plugs when I’m out and about so I might leave it for now 😂 I wish you luck with your import, it’ll be really cool to see one over there!
