My God, so she made an SA allegation against her best friend of years based on the word of a fly-by-night person who intentionally got her drunk? Why the hell would he want to hear from his false accuser? It sounds like she’s alone, which is a kind of justice. It says a lot about her old high school Friends that they would dismiss a false claim of sexual assault as nothing. Indirectly she and Samantha very likely caused Tom to end himself. So sad. If she has any self-respect remaining and wants to make a gesture, post a statement on social media admitting to everything. Out Samantha for who and what she is. This is an incredibly heavy and painful situation for everyone involved. It’s important to acknowledge the harm caused by false accusations, as they can destroy lives and trust, not only for the person accused but also for others who are genuinely seeking justice in similar situations. It’s equally important to recognize how manipulative people can prey on emotions and create devastating consequences. Moving forward, taking responsibility, seeking forgiveness, and learning from this experience is critical. I hope all parties can find healing and closure. Let’s all remember to approach such situations with care, thoroughness, and empathy to prevent misunderstandings and ensure justice
@raeishimuraКүн бұрын
This is what makes false accusations so absolutely disgusting. They are devastating to the real victim of them. The "accuser" (read: criminal) destroys an innocent man's life, they don't care. They are perfectly happy with it. In fact, they do so with glee. And a person who never did anything wrong, an innocent person just trying to live their life, has to suffer, and sometimes are beaten down so badly that they take the most precious thing they have from themselves. And that accuser? They know. And they don't care. Story 1 OP was used as a pawn to do this, sure. But she still did it. OP chose to listen to someone she hardly knew over her best friend. She destroyed him, and now he's gone. OP, live with the guilt. You are at fault, and you need to never, ever forget that you ended that man. You did.

Story 2: OP if you are better with emotional issues than your fiancée the mother - this is a GREAR RED FLAG!
@Arkryal18 сағат бұрын
This is why I don't date single moms, lol. It's not the kid that drives me away, it's the mother. If they are getting married, they have to be partners and make those decisions together, trusting that their combined experiences and reasoning will lead to compromises that are overall objectively better than either would have arrived at alone. She doesn't view OP as a partner, in her mind he's just a boyfriend who gave her a ring and will soon be taking over more of the bills, lol. That's not a great foundation for a marriage. But I don't think she's a bad person. She made a very common mistake. She's used to parenting her child unilaterally, and delegating some of those decisions is going to be hard for her. She ignored what her son wanted, and that hurt him. She feels bad about that. When OP called her out on that, she became defensive and doubled down. That's not ideal, but it is pretty typical human behavior. Everyone makes similar mistakes from time to time, it's not an indictment of their character, but it is something they need to be able to acknowledge (and it sounds like she did... eventually). But yeah, as a man, that incident would have had me questioning my future with her. Of course she is the kid's mother. But she can't have her cake and eat it too... ask him to be a father to her son while shutting him out of any meaningful decision. And single moms do this a LOT... not all, of course, but I would say it's very much the norm.

everyone says that she shouldnt contact Tom bc it might bring up bad old memories again, but nobody thinks about the possibility that maybe Tom is the type of person to wants his name cleared and want to hear an apology from the accuser herself. if he's someone that doesnt want to hear from her again, then he'll hear from her again once, it'll bring up the pain again, but then he'll never hear from her again, and he will forget about it again. if he wants to hear the apology, he would go the rest of his life wondering if his former best friend still believed that he would do that one is temporary pain, the other is permanent pain, so logically the best decision is actually to reach out to Tom since it's up to the accuser or original victim to make the next move he died by overdose and signs point to that he never got over it. perhaps if she found out and reached out sooner, it would help him to recovery knowing his name was cleared. people don't tend to think about this perspective

Run, don't walk to the nearest exit, and keep running. If you apologize. At this point, he's not going to believe you. He's not going to care. You destroyed this man's life for 17 f****** years, you have no idea of the damage you did to him, nor did you care. There's no way you can make this up to him. At least no way I can mention here.

So you were willing to bring all this up to Tom to ease your guilt ,but you don't want to bother Samantha? Wow! Also you wonder what type of life he had if he managed to move past it? Are you being deliberately blind ? This poor ma had his entire life destroyed and was betrayed by someone he trusted implicitly. No he didn't manage to move past it and have a good and fulfilling life, he became an addict and died of an overdose !

Story 1 is obvious ragebait lol. If it is, well... Op certainly isn't a good person and I wouldn't be surprised if she actually did worse to the guy than what she discloses. After all, she spends it all on her pity party of "I'm not trying to shift blame but it's not my fault". In any case the simple fact she doesn't want to confront the girl or find his parents is enough to have an idea of her character. As for atonement? Lmao get out of here, you think victims want to hang out with their abusers or somethings? How delusional is she?

The fact op chose to believe Samantha on the spot over his best friend shows how little of actual friend was to Tom.
