Well done Marc and eve. When charging from generator or variable power surges allways use a voltage surge protector......costs about 500rs ....just fit in line between power supply and your control gear. Then no surges so no damage . All the best.

The 6th highest pass Photi-la is more tiring than Umling-la. There are multiple routes at least 5 to Umling-la so it gets pretty confusing which one to take. Glad that you made it to Umling-la & back. Hope you see the pangong lake from the China side too.
