Doing Korean-to English-translation is always tricky because most of the time there is no direct translation and have to rely on context clues of the full sentence or paragraph. Monsta X also love using metaphors in their lyrics but often does not really translate well. In this instance, the boys are singing about toxic love. How they are obsessed with someone even though they know that person is doing nothing but lie and hurt them, they are still so into it--they have become addicted to the pain. The constant build-up of the chords and the distorted guitars also complement the lyrics which adds to the whole meaning of the song. The abrupt ending makes you feel like an addict craving for that next hit so you wanna keep coming back for more--just like in a toxic relationship. Monsta X is in a league of their own. These boys are so talented.
