Unironically the whole knife debacle shows that some people think that ‘omg high number strong omega op weapon’ is the standard for a ‘good weapon’. As jabo says, a knife doing 40+ damage, ignoring resistances, attacking 3x faster than a supersledge which is the contending alternative, is more optimal. I loved doing knife runs and playing with the pickmans blade cause it was considerably a better weapon than other uniques imo. No it doesnt do a quadrillion damage in one hit, but the majority of fights in fo4 take more than one swing and its better to have higher dps than higher one swing damage.

One of the GLs from the next gen patch has the same legendary effect, it doesn't do as much damage as the Fatman or Piggy Bank launcher, but it's a ligher weapon and will do the job it is intended to do.

That knife you got Jabo is a good drop, one of the Grenade Launchers in the Fallout 4 next gen patch has that same legendary effect ,and it's one of the best weapons in the game. It's actually a GL that's based off of or supposed to be the QLZ-87. It has the hand rail and you aim with the sights from the side, you probably know what I'm talking about if you have picked it up and used it for a challenge run. An explosive weapon ignoring armor and stuff is good, and the knife having that same effect is really good since it'll continue to ignore armor and resistances with each hit.

54:00 "fallout 4 with no items" is technically possible and in fact has been done by other streamers as fallout 4 with only gifts and rewards the gist of the stipulation was that they could only use weapons armor given to them by NPC's for completing quests And that they could use the caps received from the quests to heal at doctors. nerbit did this awhile back Though oddly he didn't go as far with it as I thought he would. He went for a melee build focused around the legendary item Adam's judgment received from a quest in Far Harbor. But that was like pretty much the only thing he got from far harbor there's a lot more stuff in Far Harbor that you could use : ware's brew for healing, Adams bulwark and Protector of Acadia for armor or if you do all the side quests for the railroad you end up with a bunch of weapons and armor that they just give you on quest completion. Though oddly that's not listed as part of the rewards for those side quests on the wiki. One of the major problems he ran into during his run was gathering scrap for building the teleporter and I was like oh there's a solution to this that involves receiving items from an npc obviously you get ada or an automatron companion to give you junk items until you have enough but he didn't go that route he just called the challenge unbeatable and finished it anyway he also used the power armor the BOS give you which I felt was taking some of the fun of the challenge away.
