@@Attackontrashcan I would disagree with that. If you read some of the ancient Greek comedies (e.g. Frogs by Aristofanes), or even Shakespeare, they are funny in a way and they're supposed to be. But the genre has evolved since and today some of the jokes could be considered primitive or distasteful (lot of toilet humor back in the ancient Greece).

I disagree. I and a lot of others I know hate sad stuff because our lives are sad enough already. Not to say we like cheesy, over-the-top happy media either, but generally for us comedy and wholesome sentimental moments are key. I can only take one tragedy a year lol, and horror movies and games just never scare me. They barely even intrigue me. Like with depressing things, my life has been scary enough already. Recently I found out my school bully is on trial for stabbing someone, and I lost my nan to the virus- that real crap makes everything else seem like sunshine and rainbows. ...And I guess personality really factors in too. I'm very extroverted, eccentric and energetic. So high energy fast paced entertainment panders more to me, I suppose. That rarely fits the bill for tragedy, horror or drama. I really like Thrillers though! And mysteries. I think I just like playing detective. My point, which admittedly is hard to sus out amongst my rambling, is that just as many people seek out escapism to a more ideal world. When the real one is too overwhelming, it's nice to think about a place with superpowers or ideal happy families. Generally people who don't fit in, find comfort in fictional characters who would accept them, and the ability to overcome situations, even if it's relegated to our dreams, or art.

I didn't mean to make it sound like *everyone* thinks this way, it's just something that I've come to notice... most people seem to like tragedy and conflict in a story, probably because it helps them relate to a character more, or let's them find at least a little bit of hope, because, if that character who went through the same stuff found a way to make life better for themself, maybe they can do it too... And the last part... you have no idea how strongly I cling to some characters, because I feel like they'd accept me, or because they handled a situation that would be way too much for me to handle, extremely well... I (someone who struggled with depression for over a decade) personally enjoy those types of stories that can go from a bunch of friends just hanging out, having the time of their life, to serious and sad and back to happy again. That's probably how most people like it...

I think they tweaked the abductions in the Sims 4 recently. It used to be a 1 in 4 chance or pregnancy in men, but in my current legacy challenge, I had two pregnancies in back to bac generations. In the previous generation, my male Sim talked to one alien at a bar and was abducted the same night. In the current generation, my Mermaid Sim married the alien child of the previous generation and on the WEDDING NIGHT, got abducted and came back pregnant. LOL! Should I send this child back? I don't want it!

Who was the one with the android wife? They're also in the part of the PSP game when you're trying to save Tycho (Pascal's alien baby). Vidcund kidnapped him, but contrary to what most of the fandom thinks (thanks to the Wiki being imperfect in that regard) he did not do it for money but because he was being mind controlled by the villain. He blames himself and after you interrogate him you have the choice to reassure him that he's not actually guilty because of the mind control thing.

Things I want in the Sims 4: Burglars trying to steal things from your home, Hair physics. Actually touch lips when kissing. Have the old sim music or have the option to turn it on and off to have the nostalgia sim feeling. More long curly hair options for different hair parts. Sims liking or disliking items or clothes. Have more trait slots. For traits such as dog lover or cat lover should have their own slots since it is more of a preference than a personality trait. All I can think of atm. Might edit this later when I think of more. Also why do the Sims 3 have more trait options? 🤔

First of all, Sims have Blood. Vampires need Blood, so they Drink it from other Sims, and when a Sim is all red, it's a murderer. Second: I wouldn't even have to go to court, because I'm very nice to my Sims. (playing 100 baby challenge. I advise it, really fun. )

If the Sims were sentient, how would they treat us? Well GrayStillPlays would literally NEVER get out of jail for one thing. And I don't say the word "literally" lightly. I mean THE HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE could happen and he'd still be in Sim jail. Like, proton decay somehow wouldn't dissolve the jail. Me, however, I can't say anything 'cos I was making up my own simple but effective death-challenges as of Sims ONE, so...

I personally hate tragedies, I can enjoy some drama or bad things happening, provided there is a happy ending, but I hate tragedies. However that might be because most movies and TV-shows don’t illicit emotions from me, I don’t think I’ve ever actually cried while watching a tragedy so it normally just annoys the crap out of me. I’ve straight up stopped reading books when they’ve killed characters, not because I’m sad but because it irritated me, especially when it was pointless or badly done. Though I’ve witnessed death and it’s consequences first hand so maybe that’s part of it? Who knows? Life is sad enough without witnessing fictional miseries, I’d rather characters be happy and have happy endings

I prefer happy endings too, but I think most modern tragedies are just not well done. If there's no deep message the sad ending is just nihilistic and grim dark, and that makes me angry. That being said, I respect your opinion that you dislike tragedies overall, I feel ya. Part of me hates it when characters die and prefers when characters live in a happier world than ours.

The first time I played with the curious I thought there was a glitch cause even tho I made pascale exercise for hours he just kept getting bigger and when he finally gave birth I was like "oh... that's kind of messed up" 😂😂😂😂

@@StoryGirl83 exactly! And not to mention an underage girl with a guy in his early adult years has too much of a creep factor for me. Although the story does show that love can survive even if your families' hate each other. In the end they probably would have been able to run away together if they had communicated with each other. I love Shakespeare but damn it's tragic
