The saddest part is the grown up dogs are less likely to get a home. I mean look at the puppys, they have a 99% chance of getting adopted. I finally went into a shelter for the first time this year to see about adopting and i cried so bad it's just so sad how the older/bigger ones are treated. Especially since they're kinda left out in the cold in small cages.

this comment is not towards Amber, but to some of you who are thinking of adopting a very adorable puppy....remember that they do grow up into full adult dogs (some people seem to strangely forget this) and you have to train them, to listen, to use the bathroom. A lot of people will adopt little puppies and get rid of them once they have grown up because they become to much to handle, which is heart breaking cause....you wouldnt actually give a child away once they grew up cause you didnt want to take care of them.....also a lot of adult dogs need adopting, since most of them go unnoticed and unloved. People should try adopting older dogs, and make the last few years they have left wonderful, were they are not in cages and not given the attention and love should be getting. I will say that having them pass on sucks, but knowing you made them feel loved makes it all worth it.

The fact that the shelter was gonna put down all of those adorable puppies hurts my heart. George's story kinda reminds me of my own baby boys story. There was a whole litter of puppies dumped in a field and he was the only one alive. The animal shelter got him but he was too young to live in the shelter so they posted on facebook about my boy and my mom saw it and got down to the shelter so fast it was unreal. He was 6 weeks old so we fostered him for two weeks then adopted him and he's now two years old. He's a purebred blue nose pit bull and he's a gorgeous boy. He's so sweet but also scared of almost everything and he's also pretty dumb but it's okay because he's perfect to me.

@@notmei1942 The collar I got has a semi thick satin lining. The studs don't touch him at any given point, and they're small enough that the collar flexes as much as any regular collar would. That aside, my cat is strictly indoor and chipped, so he doesn't wear it too often. As long as you're careful with the collar choice, you can make sure your fur babies are comfortable and fashionable!

I adopted my Freja from Greece in June 2018. She was found with a broken pelvis and a gunshot wound to the hip, her siblings laid dead beside her, the veterinarian estimated that she had had her injuries for over a month. Today she is healthy and so wonderful, she has the most amazing personality and are always happy and sees the best in people even after everything she has gone through. A tip is to buy a DNA-test for George, both Embark and Wisdom Panel sell them. All you do is swab the insides of George's cheek and send the swabs back to the company and you will get the result within 4 weeks.

Having a dog/pet in general is one of the best decisions you could ever make. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats and they made my life so much better. They are a handful but they are worth it! Congrats on your new bundle of joy lol He’s so cute ❤️
