I Almost DIED While Fishing For Hybrid Striped Bass | Low Water Dam | Oklahoma

While fishing for hybrid striped bass I noticed the water coming up shortly after I got there. There is a siren to let you know when the dam upstream has begun to release, but unfortunately it went off before I got there. During this video I checked the dam release schedule for the dam up stream multiple times, but unfortunately again, the website did not update.
I had to swim out with my waders filled and a heavy tackle bag with three poles on it.
If I had waited 10 more minutes to leave, it could’ve been a disaster.

If u look closer the light did flash, there's signs posted up warning people when light flash water is going to be release. Glad you're safe 🙏

How deep was that ur crossing? Was it due to water release that made it deeper? Overall good content man ur like my fishing report guy

That spot is usually about hip high. But they had started to release just before I got there so I never heard the siren nor did the website update the release so I was caught off guard. Thank you for the support!

@@RitchFishing I’m not calling out no one but who ever was there maybe should have warned you if they saw you crossing and heard the siren already. But again fish at your own risk not nobody job to babysit and we as fisherman do crazy stuff for a fishing spot. Tight lines!

In this video I was using an Alabama rig with 1/8 jig heads on the 4 outer arms and a 3/8oz chatter bait on the middle arm and each arm had a 3.25” swim bait. Not worth it. I have seen plenty ppl on that island when water low and had to call dnr rescue for them. Main reason they have lines on the rocks now. Be safe but fish hard.
