I definitely agree on the vodskall episodes thing. Well, I always think you're fun to watch, so I might be a bit biased, but I don't feel that you need to polish up your clips much or make a particular amount of progress in an episode to be entertaining. Your content shines most when you're having fun! If the videomaking process is stressing you out or making it harder for you to enjoy yourself, definitely adjust it to fit your needs. We're glad to have you back!

On the inventory thing - this is absolutely a mood. I'm not a redstoner, so all my storage is manually sorted. I spend the first like week and a half of mc gathering materials to build a large enough base with a big enough storage building, then get burnt out when I realize I still have to move the 20 double chests worth of shit scattered around my build into my storage room... Shulker boxes are a bandaid on a broken bone, and they're a "late game" item for most regular players. I could also rant and scream about current mc inventory all day. But, super happy you're back

@@Penguin_merchant Nope not at all. Even white collar jobs are one extra week of vacation every 5 years, capping out at like 4 weeks. Ive been in the workforce as a software engineer for about 5 years and I still have only 2 weeks total, so technically 10 paid days. People that are in retail or food service etc. usually dont get anything in the way of pto or benefits. If you're going to miss work, even for sickness, you normally have to call around yourself to try and get your shift covered or else it's a no call no show and you lose your job. The labor movement in the US has been dead for a very, very long time to the point where we really do owe our souls to the company store at this point.

I think Mojang should copy the "quickstack" and "deposit all" buttons from Terraria. Open a chest, click "quick stack" to stack all the items from your inventory which allready are present in the chest. Or maybe even better, click once to fill up all stacks in the chest from items in your inventory, click again to put all of your matching items in. That alone would help so much. Maybe a block that is expensive to craft (Nether star, obsidian, some diamonds, all the good stuff, an ender eye for the lore) where you can just right click and it will automatically drop all the matching items from your inventory into nearby chests. I feel like that would match the MC vibe.

I have the kind of ADHD where I love just organizing things, so I think I should be invited onto Hermitcraft just to sort everyone’s storage out. Forget auto sorters, I just log on like once or twice a day and make sure everybody’s storage is nice and neat 😂 I just get a tiny dirt hut where I log in and out, sounds like the dream to me!

Okay genuinely: I love this style of video. It's got the life and energy of watching a stream or a VOD but in much more manageable time chunks for those of us who don't have the chance to sit for a few hours and watch a stream or VOD. Excited for VH s4 too!!

I like the idea of having some sort of item set bundle option, where one inventory slot will expand upon clicking to a set of corresponding related blocks. For example, a dark oak set where you can store up to one stack of every dark oak item, fences, gates, planks, stairs slabs, etc. In this specific example, the item set bundle can be found in woodland mansions. Other sets can be found in corresponding structures (stone sets in stronghold, oak set in plains village etc) This would play well into the later game, reward exploring and would not fundamentally change early game inventory management. To me, the bloat comes most when I am working with these item variants and I believe this would work well while creating a fair and modern inventory situation.

To expand, there should be a bundle set for any material that has variants such as stairs and slabs. To name a few more A purpur bundle set can be found within end islands A jungle bundle in a jungle temple Prismarine bundle as an actual reward for killing the elder guardian Deepslate bundle in ancient cities Netherbrick bundle in fortress Sandstone bundle in desert temple andesite, diorite, granite bundle trading with mason villager blackstone bundle in bastion Mangrove bundle in mangrove witch huts The rest of the wood types in their corresponding villages It would be great if an item would auto sort itself into this bundle if you are holding the bundle somewhere in your inventory Thank you for reading my rant :)

I played V Rising for a bit and coming back to Minecraft I missed their chest system - there are categories of items so opening the "Potions" storage and hitting a button automatically puts all "potion" items from your inventory in and same with building materials or herbs etc. I wish Minecraft had something like that

I feel the hermits would really benefit from a gigantic shared auto sorter, a bit like what Pearl and X did last season in the garbage depot. That way less items go to waste and multiple hermits don't need to build multiple chestrooms or sorters.

The only problem I see with it is that it will quickly turn into a socialist utopia (like on technical servers), and it's not great for content. Otherwise, X, Doc, Tango and Impulse could build a server quarry to get infinite resources.

while this would be cool, it would partially change the way that they played. part of the fun is having their own items and trading for them instead of sharing everything. this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it means we'd see a lot of hermits specialize more in producing items and others just build, instead of trying out more new things. it would be a bigger change than the permits.

You could probably sell your garbage shulker boxes to other hermits. Similar to how they sell lockers in the TV-series “storage wars”. There is definitely some hermit stupid enough to buy a shulker box with random junk from you with the hopes of finding treasure. You will both get rid of your junk and you will earn some diamonds in the meantime. Double win!

Aside from the storage issue, the one thing I've absolutely hated about Minecraft's inventory since I started playing was that there wasn't a sort function. Why is there no sort function!? It makes absolutely no sense. Part of the frustration of looking through chests and chests of storage is that you can't find anything because nothing is sorted unless you go through the tedious and painful task of doing it all manually. Minecraft really needs a quality of life update.

You can make your own sorting system for all of your items. You can decide on the complexity. Some use a sorting system that contain full shulker boxes and some people just toss their items into a hole and the system will sort the items automatically.

as someone with Sophisticated Backpacks and Storage Drawers in his top 10 favorite "must have" mods list..... Y E S. Can't impulsively just go explore with a friend, you gotta make sure the building blocks and that random wheat from breeding your cows and the seeds from the wheat and the leather from don't ask (/lh) and those 2 cobblestone from having to make a villager staircase out of a hole temporarily and- I could go on. I was already mad when diorite/andesite/granite was added from an inventory/storage perspective, but was shouted down with "but the builders" from my friends... now we have deepslate and geodes and tuff and more trees and more types of dirt and AUGH. Are they fun blocks for building with? yes. are they a fucking nightmare to store all of? YES. ETA: I am not a storage sorting enjoyer but I have offered to log into a streamer friend's account to SORT HIS [expletive] CHESTS so I don't have to avert my eyes every time he opens one...

Shulker Boxes and Ender Chests were meant to be a fix for inventory problems, but they are not sufficient for the amount of items that have been added to Minecraft since launch. They announced that Bundles are finally coming soon, but I feel like that is a band-aid for the problem. I don't know what an inventory solution for minecraft would be that would feel "minecrafty" and not like a mod to the game.

Mission Idea: Join "The Hole Network". You must make a hole in the the bedrock underneath your base(in the Overworld). Then you need to fly to Zed or Tango's(founding members) hole under the bedrock in the overworld. If you make it to the other side safely, you complete this mission. (Optional: You are NOT allowed to put away your valueables before your flight!)

It's funny I usually don't feel like I have a problem with storage, but then I also go look at my farms and realize there's 25 chests chained with hoppers and things are still overflowing and they're still 5M blocks away. So not only would I love a way to manage large storage better (fast filters, etc), but I *also* really want the ability to upgrade ender chests to have multiple "slots". Because if you have an industrial district 20 minutes away, and you have more than 27 shulkers to move around, it really really sucks. So upgraded ender chests and a multi-filter block that can push stacks of items from a water stream into chests fast.

For the storage issue. I think if you can access inside shulkers without having to place them would be a huge game changer. You should be able to click the middle mouse button and pop up some item to the hot bar within the shulker. Like it would switch places with what was in the shulker. Instead of 27 slots inside your inventory, excluding the hot bar, you are now at 729 slots.

I definitely noticed and felt the absence of uploads, but hope you enjoyed the vacation! For MC's storage, I do genuinely enjoy it, I find it really satisfying to plan out and sort a storage room and chests. Bundles are great for the problem of *inventory clutter*, but have a few small problems (can't choose exactly what you want to take out, rabbit hide to craft) which will hopefully be fixed with all the tons and tons of feedback But when it comes to chest storage, I don't feel the need for a massive auto-sorter, I just enjoy making a big storage room and organizing everything inside. It takes some time but once you do it it's *really* easy in the future to just go between chests to dump things where they belong, since you already know where everything is! This may be a callout but it's mostly a problem for people who don't wanna take the time to organize, just wanna stuff things in one place without worrying about where to look later, but if you just take the time to organize early on, then it's barely an issue down the line, even if you have to expand your storage space (which can be solved earlier by thinking ahead and giving yourself enough space) Definitely think there could be *something* better, but the issue is mostly _what would fit,_ considering that chests are already super super space-efficient for how much they store, especially when paired with shulkers. Making auto-sorters a little easier could certainly help but I don't think the ideas people typically suggest ("bigger chests" or "add sort buttons") would really help when the problem seems to mainly stem from a lack of organization

Rocket Shop with Elytra course? would probably have to be on the edge of the shopping district unless other hermits are okay with you building above their shops (which would be cool to have an elytra course over the district that guides you around to see everything, perhaps with themed obstacles?) but you'd likely sell even more rockets because of the course. and if there are any parts of the course that require you to put up something to indicate where you need to go you could make arrows that look like rockets or use rockets in an item frame. And like with Etho's frog light shop with frogger game, you could offer rockets as a reward for completing the course sucessfully (of course if you wanted to do this, you should make the course fairly difficult but not impossible) perhaps you could even charge them a diamond or two to play as well.

Its very close to vanilla and maybe having one of the largest SMPs have to mod the storage might make mojang take the storage issue seriously. 5:30 (ish) - I definitely agree about the inventory thing. It's a big part of why I'll play for a short time on a new major vanilla update (especially huge ones like the Nether Update (1.16), Caves and Cliffs (1.18), etc.) to check out the new features, but then I'll switch to a modpack (usually All the Mods, currently ATM 9) AE2 (or really any storage mod, but #AE2MasterRace)alone just makes dealing with item storage so much better, especially with the AEInfinityBooster addon that allows you to access your storage from anywhere with an upgrade card EDIT: Even just something relatively small like Inventory Profiles Next hugely helps the quality of life with its inventory sorting feature, never mind its other features like auto-refill when you use the last block in a stack/break a weapon or tool, or the ability to just dump your entire inventory into a chest at once (especially the "move matching items" part of that)

A really nice mod that I like for inventory is the inventio mod. It gives you special additional slots and your inventory on the side for each tool and automatically will pull out the different tool for the job of whenever you're mining a specific type of block. There's also a enchant that doubles your inventory size so you have two inventories essentially. And you have more slots for the shield slot where you can have food, rockets, shield, bow and just rotate through them with a button which is pretty handy. You can also change one of your buttons to space bar if you want to automatically use the rockets with space bars instead , which is pretty nice. You should try it out when you have the time.

Vodskall videos are great and I love getting just more content to watch, Iskall is very enjoyable even when his videos aren't perfect and I love watching him play vault hunters.

2:36 Honestly I love the vodskall episodes. I think you could 100% get away with making them the main channel eps, just maybe with intro&outro. And especially if it’s what is easier and makes more sense for you and makes you feel better, then go for it!

For the record Iskall, you've had some rants over the years. I've even been on board with one or more of them in the past. Your mini-rant about storage here in minecraft is spot on. Every time I get the urge to actually go play, I immediately think about the storage and then I don't play. Its why I watch Hermitcraft instead of playing.
