You will probably need more power than you think judging by how much the full time campers use. Check the amountof power you get from solar panels and go check out solar batteries...very expensive! Do your homework. I'm not a Debbie Downer, just worried about you guys❤

That person thought he had a sucker in you. That you didn't know anything. Talk to your neighbors and check if that is even in the area. The only problem with solar is the sun doesn't always shine. So batteries are important. Phil is amazing! Is there anything he can't do? We rented a trencher to hook into the septic so that was not too expensive. A good friend is an electrician so we get the "family discount" . My son used to work as a plumber. He no longer has his license but his best friend does. Another friend before retiring hung dry wall. We can do the walls but he did our ceilings. We have rental properties and one renter is a tree trimmer and one is a welder. Because we are also friends, we have not raised any rent in 15 years. So we all help each other. So all in all, we are truly blessed. So I'm sure that since you are such a special family that this electric thing will take care of itself when needed. Just like the laser cutter. X-Tool is fabulous for supplying such a thoughtful and useful help for your business. You deserve all. Sorry for rambling. ❤

The ceiling fan may not need to be replaced. The blades might just need to be adjusted. Before you buy new, try gently pushing the blades up or down so they all are the same level. That will stop the wobble. I’m not sure that’s all that’s wrong with the fan, but it’s worth a try.

I can’t wait to see how your laser cutter works. I love tools! I’ve never seen one before. Also, that’s a nice scroll saw! And 2 will be great for what you’re doing. I gave away a lot of my woodworking tools. I just wasn’t using them. However, I kept my beloved scroll saw. Now this is mother speaking. I’m worried about the saw dust if you’re going to cut wood without ventilation. I would put in a good fan in to pull it outside. I cut a lot of projects in a closed garage and I didn’t wear a mask. Recently we lost 2 family members to lung cancer so now I regret not being more careful. The pine sap is the worst. Anyway, it’s always so fun to watch you two. I love watching how you dive in to almost everything and it always turns out great.

Eliysia, please purchase some equipment insurance to protect everything against theft, etc. When I opened my new office someone watched us set up then robbed us of critical equipment. Costco sells a great motion detector solar light for under $40..since your shop is on a busy road it would be tempting for thieves. A game trail camera has it's own power system and could be hidden and a sign smile you are on camera could work

I love the solar generator idea, maybe down the line, you can put in solar at the homestead, with a power wall, and if that works out, you can convert the studio over too. I do think you need to insure the studio, and all of your tools, against theft as well. It being remote, kind of worries me, when your are putting those tools in there. A security system with camera's might be worth it as well, if you do have a break-in you have video, and maybe even a license plate. That laser cutter and engraver, that is going to elevate your kits to a whole new level and save you so much time. When you have both scroll saws working, you should leave one on the homestead, or invest in a third. That way if you have a few last minute late at night projects to finish for your kits, or you are feeling under the weather, or you get an idea and want to rush to your scroll saw to try it out, you can even at night, in your jammies, without having to drive to the shop. I am very excited for you, for stepping out with a unique way to build your business, and using your channel to work on the kits with your viewers! You may at some point want to make mini kits, where people can follow along using what they have at home, with only one part of a kit, or a custom Elysia engraved special item.

One thing that I've learned from you is that when life tries to throw you a curve ball, you just switch it up and hit it out of the ball park anyways! Solar power for the win! Even if you had the $4K, it would not be wise to spend it all on the electrician when that amount could pay for like 2-4 projects at home! You can use the propane heater to save your solar power…. I have a propane kitchen stove snd I cook a lot and in one year, we used $68 of propane in one year. Amazon has a King scroll saw for $169 and King is a well know company, just telling you in case it could help.

You may be able to salvage the fan by bending the blades until it runs properly. Worth a try! The glass door can be covered with either a curtain secured top and bottom, or decoupaged over the glass for privacy.

You might want to install a ventless propane wall heater. They are safe to use an all rooms except bedrooms. We have had them in the past and they produce a lot of heat fast and new ones are very efficient. The ones that we have purchased in the united states are not particularly expensive and are cheaper to use then electric baseboard heat. I believe even Phil could install one 😊

I fully expect to be watching in a few years when you hit one million subs!. We are in northern bc, and I have an off grid stained glass studio. We have 6 solar panels and 7 batteries, which give me ample power for my glass grinder, soldering iron and lights...on sunny days, but it's iffy on cloudy days, so running those scroll saws lights, etc may be a stretch.
