The ICNA-MAS annual convention is one of the largest gatherings of American Muslims in the U.S. This is the forth consecutive year it has been held in Baltimore. It was attended by over 21,000 Muslims. It featured many top scholars and activists, in addition to many special events like 1000 Meals Distribution in Downtown Baltimore, 750 Mercy Bags distribution to senior homes and Street dawah at Inner Harbor.

That was absolutely beautiful ma shaa Allah I really loved this talk. What I need to take with me: 1: make sure your kids remember your smiling face at your janaza. 2: use loving words when adressing your children. They will remember and be hurt from the harsh language even after you forget. 3: always try to connect with them. Ask them what they think. Make them feel that their thoughts matter. That THEY matter. 4: never use religion to justify yourself or discipline them because that tension you create in them with islam stays for so long. Jazakum Allah khayran.

May Allah bless our baby musa our shaikhs son congratulations to shaikh adel Rahman murphy and may Allah shower his mercy on baby musa and through his wisdom guide him an give him a good healthy life inshallah ameen. They are the fruits of our youth Subuhan Allah the sermon was something to think about may Allah grant shaikh Rahman and his family the best in both worlds. Inshallah he reminds me of my dear shaikh abdur raheem maccarty. The shaikh mentioned about Pakistan politics I wish the shaikh could educate the minds of the Pakistani Muslims living in Pakistan or a Pakistani Muslim from the west to do that job for me. Not just Pakistan but all the Muslims living in that continent I just don’t like them feel like they don’t know anything about the Abrahamic religion. they were all Indians at one point worshiping idols before they knew anything about the Abrahamic religion. They use to follow other ways of life before they knew anything about Islam or Christianity. I just like the way they think of Islam they mix their culture with Islam and think everything they do is Islamic. Example like arrange marriage they think it’s compulsory and falling in love with a person is haram. And These other practices I’ve seen people do in the name of Islam it’s all cultural nothing to do with Islam. It’s not just Muslims in Pakistan but Muslims from that continent living in different countries. Western Muslims don’t have this problem and that’s the beauty of Islam I see in Muslims from the west. And they have more knowledge about the Abrahamic religion then others will ever know. And it’s so beautiful and simple and easy to learn and gain good knowledge from the western scholars. I want these grate scholars of ours to go to theses countries and educate the minds of the Muslims living there and make them understand and recognise the beauty of Islam an the distinguish their culture from the religion. Even some of the young Muslims in the west have adopted theses ideas I was one of them and subhan Allah I’ve realised the differences through our precious scholars and They the cause of Islam entering into my heart and that Islam will never die or fade away inshallah because i see naw why Islam is such a beautiful way of life. Before Islam was all dark in my mind but thanks to the scholars I’ve realised the difference all that was culture I use to think of and it’s nothing to do with Islam. Islam doesn’t work like that some of my friends still look at Islam with these cultural ideas because of ignorance and think that’s Islam. They don’t practice Islam because they not attracted to what they think Islam. They ignorant about these differences between Islam and the culture they follow. I talk to them about it but they argue with me telling me am wrong and it hurst they don’t see the true beauty of Islam and realise haw meaningful this way of life is. That’s why they don’t practice it but just claim to be Muslims. They don’t even know what Muslim means neither did I. Subuhan Allah Allah has blessed me through the scholars. I so much want the western scholars to educate the minds of those Muslims from Asia living in different countries. So they see the beauty of Islam and know the difference between their culture and the religion inshallah.

SubhanAllah everything is good except the teen age kids the boys should not be out after 10:00 pm and the girls can visit other Muslim girls houses, if they want to go out they should be in company of an adult. Because we are living in a time our societies has become like Sodom and Gomorrah. Kids need to understand Allah (SWT) said the Heaven is underneath of your mother and father is the gate of Heaven, with that high status for parents it comes with great responsibilities parenting. It is the parents who brought you in this world and raised you with all those difficulties and do not want to see your destruction, until you get married it is their responsibilities after that you can go or chat with your friends. Never hate your parents for refusing to give in to your nafs. I pray to Allah (SWT) to guide all our teen age Ummah AMEEN.

venkat rao What exactly does ISNA do as an organization ??? As a Muslim growing up in the US for over 20 years...I find it hard to find any personal impact ISNA has provided for me. I think the problem resides within the lack of traditional scholarship ISNA'S board consists of. We need a team of leaders with refined souls to lead the Muslims of America. And i dont really see that with ISNA. Most people on the board try to comform with American values whilst leaving Islamic values. We are facing an identity chrisis as Muslims living in America...and ISNA is confusing the identities of many American Muslims. Id argue ICNA is doing much better work than ISNA is with a smaller team and following. What are your thoughts!??! JazakAllah Khairan

Muhammad peace be upon him did not split the moon. He is not considered God in any religions. It is God who did and it is God who joined it again. Just like the Miracles of all the prophets before Muhammad peace be upon him. Abraham peace be upon him was thrown in the fire and God had made the fire cool for him. Solomon had the miracle of speaking and understanding languages of all the creatures of the Earth. Moses had the miracle of splitting the Sea with the staff. And Jesus peace be upon them all had miracles of healing the sick, etc. None of these mightly personalities did anything on their own except that God gave them those miracles to perform to guide mankind to worship God alone. Yet we have people who kno about these miracles and still do not get guidance. What a dreadful loss.
