(HIATUS IS OVER BABY)! Welcome back to another Friday Night Funkin' video and today we are playing the Friday Night Funkin' Sonic.exe Mod! But this time...it has an update (I know I'm sorta late, but I was testing twice this month). Now I never played the first version of this, but alot of you guys were telling me to play the updated version of this so here it is! Now onto my opinions on this mod. Assets/GFX in my opinions would be an SS Rank. I've never seen assets look so nice ever (Feel like I'm being biased here but whatever). Now the charting, I would give it a B or C rank, the charting most of the time was quite hard and fun to play! (But the charting for 5K was really good). The songs in this mod would be an SS rank, the songs are an absolute bop in my opinion, and the vocals might be an S or A rank, Overall this update is quite solid and it's worth to give it a try. Mod context: The rings, like in the sonic games, are meant to shield you, whenever you missed, you would not take any damage and lose 1 ring instead (there are 64 total rings in the song) Triple trouble has tails soul, knuckles soul, eggman soul, and Xenophane, the souls are just reanimated versions of the characters, and while their souls are enslaved, they aren’t exactly loyal to sonic.exe (signified by how you only get rings during their segments, they’re trying to help you), meanwhile Xenophane is a newer version of sonic.exe, being created after the original creator of sonic.exe got kicked out of the community I believe for being a groomer, he’s based on the same source material as Lord X and that’s why he has an X carved into his chest too also, tails’ segment has chemical plant zone theme in it, knuckles has his theme and giorno’s theme (in the instrumental right before knuckle’s theme plays), and the beginning and end of eggman’s segment is a sped up version of ugh (he even laughing where there would be an “ugh”) Cycles has Lord X, a version of sonic.exe from the sonic.exe pc port who has his design based off the original source material, him also being the reason they added hands inside of sonic.exe’s mouth in the too slow sprites and the cutscene after too slow when you die to him he says various things in the game over screen, but the most interesting one is a spectrogram that shows an image of boyfriend being held up by puppet strings by an unknown being, only their hands and eyes visible Endless has Majin Sonic (also known as Creep in one of the exe games), an official character from an easter egg in sonic cd’s sound test, when you put in a certain code (46 12 25) you would get a screen with a bunch of these sonics with the words “FUN IS INFINITE WITH SEGA ENTERPRISES” over it in japanese and the word “Majin” (japanese for devil) in the corner, majin being the nickname of one of the people at the company, and had the boss music playing in the background, and while it was meant to be a joke in the UK version of the game, the US version had a VERY eerie boss theme compared to the upbeat UK one, so that combined with the weird sonics ended up scaring kids When you die to him, you’re surrounded by majin sonics and a 10 second countdown starts, if you don’t retry before then, bf is turned into a majin version of himself and the game crashes Sunshine has tails doll, an unlockable character from sonic r that became a creepypasta that coexisted with sonic.exe, the song name is a reference to the song “Can you feel the sunshine” from sonic r (basically the “theme song” for the creepypasta) and the blackout part of the song plays to the beat of it’s chorus when you die to tails doll, boyfriend gets hanged by a noose Chaos has fleetway sonic, a version of super sonic from the fleetway comics that is basically super sonic with his mind corrupted by the chaos energy (the area the song takes place I believe is a scene in the comics), and he’s probably the closest we’ve gotten to an official sonic.exe Faker and Black Sun have EXE, a revamped sonic.exe made by the mod’s director revie_03, consisting of a disguised normal form (seen in Faker) and a tall skeletal monstrosity of a true form (seen in black sun), the dead tails in the background is a reference to the death scene revie made, where (after at some point losing his tails) tails gets grabbed by the neck by black tendrils as EXE appears before a flame erupts beneath him and he’s burnt to a crisp (btw, EXE’s true form is not wearing gloves, those are his claws, you can see they fuse into his skin, same with his shoes) During the transformation cutscene after faker, you can hear him saying “YOU’RE TOO..YOU’RE TOO..YOU’RE TOO..YOU’RE TOO..YOU’RE TOO..YOU’RE TOO SLOW! *distorted laughter*”, him wanting you to believe he’s the real sonic to the point that he just parrots his famous line also, black sun has a unique mechanic, you cannot regain health, EXE has constant health drain where hitting notes slows it down and missing notes speeds it up, and if you hit 10 notes you’re almost guaranteed to lose (less if you hit too many in a short time due to it speeding up the health drain) His death screen in faker is the normal one, but in black sun it’s different, it will show a still image of EXE’s face from the front, and if you don’t press the button to retry, he will soon let out a distorted roar, glitch out the screen and fill it with static, and close the game

Dying on endless and letting the countdown go through also generates a .txt file just called 'fun.txt' on your desktop and it is filled with over 30,000 columns of the words 'FUN IS INFINITE' repeated over and over

A few things I forgot to say in my original comment (putting it as a new comment so you see it): The official name for the notes that drain your health are Phantom notes, found in the files I’m sad you didn’t see this, but if you turn on botplay, a black screen with a creepy sonic.exe face will fade in with the words “NO CHEATING” below it before sending you back to the options screen with botplay turned back off, botplay doesn’t exist in this mod, you can’t pussy your way out of the 8:27 long endurance test that is triple trouble In version 2.0 (the one you played) Endless was remixed and Cycles was a revamped version of a song called Execution, Lord X’s original song in the mod, with little hints of the original in it (most notibly the part at 23:24), both old versions will be released later in the mod for people who liked them (especially old endless) and there is also something that will come out called “Endless JP version”, the remixed one is US version so idk if JP version is old endless or something new, so keep any eye out for that Eggman soul’s segment also has some eggman boss themes in it I believe black sun has a sped up version of gaster’s theme in it (heard at 37:09) and as you heard in other comments, Divide was an artist in this mod that passed away while 2.0 was in development, just wanted to say that he made the sprites for EXE and I think Lord X as well as the song faker and maybe black sun for your information

Just some info for anyone curious Feel free to correct me if I get anything wrong Main Week is based on the original story of Sonic.exe Triple Trouble has the trapped souls of Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik, while Sonic.exe has given up the guise of Sonic Fun fact: Sonic.exe's real name is Xenophanes Cycles is based on Sonic (PC Port) And you face Lord X who is based off of the original Exe story, but not exactly the same Fun fact: The game over in main week is based on a scene from Sonic (PC Port) Endless is based on Sonic CD's "Fun is infinite" Easter Egg where you face Majin Sonic. It is also where the mechanic of the sound test comes from, as Sonic CD you could get secret screens by putting certain digits into the sound test Fun fact: Majin is Japanese for " Magical person" and can refer to humans who use magic, demons, genies, ect Chaos is based on "Sonic the Comic" a British comic published by Fleetway Publications In the song you face Fleetway's version of Super Sonic, when going Super, Sonic is controlled by a demon-like entity, who Sonic must hold back, as Super Sonic has no issue killing and destroying who ever and what ever. Think the Joker and Sonic mixed into one Faker/Black Sun is based on Revie's Sonic.exe named "EXE" In Faker they are in their guise of Sonic, while in Black Sun they give up the guise just like Sonic.exe does in Triple Trouble They are much more aggressive which is why you can't regain health in Black Sun Fun fact: Revie is one of the creators in this mod Sunshine is based on the Tails Doll from Sonic R who is a secret unlockable character They are included as there is a famous creepypasta called "The Tails Doll curse" where witnessing the Tails Doll in game will curse you, making the doll come to your house and kill you Fun fact: During the black out you sing "Can you feel the Sunshine?" from the Sonic R OST Milk is based on the fangame Sunky.MPEG, which is a spinoff of another fangame called Sunky Its just Sonic/Sally.exe but shitpost Too fest is where you face the most evil god Sanic.exe who has a kill count of over 9000
