If all players went to 0,0 in their seed, the probability of two players meeting would be around 0.07%! Might seem surprisingly high, this is a case of the "birthday paradox". If each player visited 100 worlds and left a sign at spawn, the probability of someone finding another persons sign is already 99.9% But thats only if all 164M players participated, and yet this might only happen a handful times heh

4:04 Correction: Assuming 164 million players, the number of seeds for each player is 112,480,146,791 seeds. Also just for fun, the chance any 2 players is in the same world at all, when all 146M are online on a random seed, is around 1 in 1372.
@Cri_JackalАй бұрын
That 1 in 1000 number would rapidly drop after the first few players meet, as they would then be able to help navigate other players toward their location.
@nimiugnАй бұрын
@@Cri_Jackal That would be fun trying to search other players, and link everyone through a large network of "world link" portal! Although worth noting, for 46.5M players (peak cited 3:36), it's 1 in 17063, and for 10M players, it's 1 in 368935. So you gotta explore A LOT of seeds. And remember these odds are for only 2 players in the entire playerbase to meet. Very interesting concept though for sure

It would be better if, when you have a random seed, there is a 1/1000 chance that it's not really random and the game will send you to an occupied seed. The chances are low but it will happen a lot and there are going to be a lot of stories about this.

With minecraft how it is written now, it would be difficult to say the least. But if minecraft was made with this idea from the very beginning (and maybe was being created today), it would be very possible to do this. But obviously expensive and not worth it

@malpkakefirek I actually made a proof of concept very similar to this where you could walk around a 32x32 grid of random squares, but the hash of the grid you were on was used as a webrtc key to connect you to any other instance of people on the same exact grid.
