5:38 this phone probably doesnt have a DAC to route audio signals in analog form via the usb port, only outputs digital audio signals. DAC is needed to convert the digital signals into analog, speakers in the headphone always need analog. So that's why we need a usb-c to 3.5mm "active" adapter, like the official samsung one, which have built in DAC in the adapter itself, thus "active" and expensive too and that converts the digital signals to analog and headphones work. Even pixel phones do this. On the other side most adpaters are "passive" because the other phones have built in DAC for usb audio, so analog signals are routed though the usb-c by the phone itself, thus the passive adapter only acts as pass through and is thus cheap and the headphones work.
