I do not find you negative. You give an honest and I say an accurate description of SWTOR. I am very much like you and I want gaming to be fun. I do not need, or want, a game that tells me how to think. Star Wars is about fantasy and adventure. Not about woke ideals that so few people, and even less players care about. with all due respect your comment doesn't make a much sense. The push from the MMO player base is to completely move away with the RPG aspect of this game and only focus on what they want. With respect to the writing whenever a character is written the person writing said character is going to naturally include their own beliefs into said character, you critiquing that is actually contradicting your point, because you are now attempting to indirectly enforce your beliefs on the writer.

Never made that claim, all I did was state what has happened in the previous aspects of when they did release roadmaps and how the players reacted back then (and based on past practice how they would act now) Second, I'll just grant for the moment that my personal belief is that they should not release a roadmap (again I'm granting this position for the purpose of this point it's not my personal position see below for my actual position). What would that have anything to do with either of my comments on this particular post, considering I never stated that position to begin with?? Coming back to my original response here, you just like the other player are demonstrating the issue with the player base. Instead of reading and understanding what is said, you jump to an assumption. Now you made the claim "Given the previous image of the game being on 'maintenance mode"; I'm sure you'll have zero issue providing me the link for this image that you're claiming exists. On top of that what evidence can you provide that even if the devs did that the player base wouldn't still believe 'the game being on maintenance mode', you may not like it, but I do read before commenting, and thus I will hold players and devs accountable for what they say. And even further, how would providing a roadmap actually demonstrate that this game isn't in dev limbo when they could easily backtrack on a date provided within the roadmap?? Again players like yourself and Plags-rj4iy need to actually provide substance to your statements instead of trying for the 30 seconds of fame. Back in May of 2024, I went through every game update and wrote down dates of when swtor did updates and released stuff (covering the years 2018-May 2024). Then using that information I made a projection from May 2024 through the end of 2025 and with every relevant thing since then (i.e. the quarterly letter, a livestream), I have then posted it again on the next video Boomy does showing that the developers do actually have a timeline (whether the players like the timeline or not is a different conversation). Obviously that timeline can shift now due to the voice-actors strike, however whether the majority of the player base wants to acknowledge that or not, the Voice-Actors strike is something out of the developers hands. At least quote me accurately 😄😄 Now I'll end by actually stating my position on a roadmap. Yes, I personally think they should have a generalized roadmap that should be released in late January or early February every year, along with end of the quarter summaries. However, for the developers to move to providing a roadmap like that they need to go back to how they wanted to do content when they initially released KOTFE which was monthly content. Which again this player base was absolutely against, and probably would still be against because monthly content would focus more on story as opposed to anything else.

I am just a Gen X (1965), mixed race (I am not black, a POC or white - I am somewhere along the brown/beige scale like everyone is) and female and I absolutely hate the recent emphasis on DEI etc leaking into the games development etc. If I wanted a game where I can go on date nights etc then I would be playing something like SIMS not SWTOR. I want to kill stuff with various weapons and fly space missions. I want to go adventuring, loot corpses and bully people...all of the stuff I cannot do IRL. If I wanted to flirt I would play my smuggler more often or even interact IRL with my husband. I also don't do role-play although I have no problem with those who do. The game already has enough DEI built into it as you can have a choice of which species to play, what sex you want to be (yes it's a binary choice but that is sex not gender), how you want to look etc. You can even make choices about who you want to flirt with. So what is the issue? If I want to make more 'conservative' choices when I play how does that affect anyone else as I rarely interact with other players apart from my family members who already know what I am like and are fine with that. I don't have a problem with female game developers providing they don't push their politics/lifestyle into the game, just the same as I wouldn't want male game developers to do. The choices the players make are their own as they are paying for the privilege. Swtor is not meant to be all things for all people or even promote 21st century US cultural norms. It meant to be in a galaxy far, far away! Likewise content creators have every right to express THEIR opinions on THEIR channels. The 'be kind' mob are some of the most intolerant people around from my experience

The class stories from the original launch was the best thing this game had. They should just restart the game and just keep adding to the class stories. Forget trying to be a wow clone with the ops and all that, every month- pick one class and expnad the story. Next month, a diff class and just keep rolling. I was a hard-core player from early release all the way through the Hutt cartel. I am like you, I don't sugar coat things and when you polish a turd it's still a turd. When the game started swirling in the toilet bowl and then got subjectively worse over time... I left the game. And I have returned time and again. I am in the military and agree with everything you say. I keep everything 💯 and I am very conservative in my beliefs. But all I want are good games. I'm still waiting to see if they address any of the graphics changes or comment on the pinned post that is a month old on the forums. Having any sort of dialogue seems to be SWTOR's greatest hurdle. This isn't the first time we've had radio silence. I doubt it will be the last. I'm looking at you mass bans after credit exploits were left live for months. I truly wish the devs would take a peek at other MMO forums. I think they might be horrified by the amount of bug reports along with fixes getting scheduled. First off, I hope that you're doing well Boomy. So look I personally think you're generally fair. With that being said content creators are like the media, the "drama" of a situation is what gets you clicks, every now and then you need to have a "happy story", but generally speaking we as people who view content want the juicy negative stuff (whether it's fair/accurate or not). However, I think to ignore any content creators hypocrisy is laughable. At the end of the day, your content is generally negative on the developers (again most of the time fair, but that doesn't mean it's not negative). For example, players continue to complain about the SWTOR devs deleting comments. However, even when presented with evidence that certain content creators (not you specifically) do the exact same thing, you stay silent on that issue, and remember this is coming from someone who has had a comment deleted by you (still no idea why), who took the position at that time, and it's a position that I still hold, that I defer to the content creator to protect their channel, just as I have the same stance for the developers when it comes to deleting comments. The issue that players have is the subjective nature of the Terms of Service. Players believe that if you don't specifically say something directed at lets say a developer that there is no violation. However if lets say Developer A designs the cartel market stuff, and Player A says man this cartel market item stuff is trash, by definition that is an attack on the developer (its silly to delete their comment, but it is a ToS violation). Also, there are content creators out there who you acknowledge that your friends with who will delete comments of people who disagree with them. So, I have to ask, are you in favor of censorship by content creators of players when those players "offer constructive criticism, and push back against broad notions", but against it when a gaming company "enforces" their terms of service?? Because whenever you do a video in an attempt to acknowledge that players shouldn't be doing a,b,c, there always seems to be a qualifier or a protection to the player base so you don't get slammed by them. Here's another thing, you've done at least one video talking about how it's a bit stunning that the developers haven't addressed the voice-actors strike. Well, what are they suppose to say?? "Hey guys just letting you know we still have no idea when we will be able to release the story for game update 7.6", only for the player base to be like (insert aggressive language) why are they giving us this information without knowing anything, and then for you to make a video addressing the "silliness" of them having communication without anything to actually report. Again there are players who are outraged that they released 7.6 without any story. You are a smart man, and you know had they said we are holding up on releasing 7.6 until we are able to finish up with the story section, the player base would have been outraged and you would have made a video (because you've done it in the past) saying "we get it, the story can't be finished because of the voice-actor strike, however that doesn't mean you as the developers couldn't have released all the other stuff associated with the update). I have a lot more to say, but I'm going to refrain at the current time, however I will end by saying yes you can be fair with your critiques of the game, however you are not consistent in holding both the player base/content creators and the developers accountable. There is always some sort of pass you give to the player base.

played since leveling was a f***ing nightmare and witnessed the greatness of Bioware through the Vitiate Eternal arc afterwards. I'm very disappointed at the current state of the game. I still come back occasionally and reminisce over what was. Them removing ranked PvP at the time they did is what killed it for me. Idk if it's back now. Last I played, max GS was 306 and if you were 306 with the correct enhancements and modifications, you were essentially a monster. The amount of morons stepping into ranked without a proper build was astounding. PLUS OG community was goated. New community all has purple hair. OG were the Star Wars nerds. I'm talking about the REAL OGs. This includes everyone who was there for the Vitiate DLCs too. New community is lame. Sorry if ur a PVEr, I cannot respect because that is weak. the game is SUPER STALE. I know not for newbies who have 243523346523 hours left of new content, or content that is still new to them. But for those of us who have already played that content, YES IT IS STALE because the pace of creation behind the scenes is full of LOLLYGAGGING by INEPT DEVS (and i dont mean the engine programmers or those revamping the actual game code -- i mean the story people, the actual content people, the design and overall game direction people). i understand some of the hardships of refactoring actual code. i cannot blame the real programmers at SWTOR because i am sure the codebase is a horror in and of itself. All this being said, i have been VERY VERY BURNED OUT and the only thing i do in-game anymore is manage my 4 or 5 mule-type GTN WHALE characters, because i am literally overflowing with CM items i need to sell real real bad.... IF you ever do have a negative criticism of swtor, you do so for legit reasons. You report what's going on in the game. If the player base does not like something, and you talk about it, it's a good thing. The first step in fixing something is admitting there is a problem. It seems the devs don't want to hear it. Swtor had the potential to be one of the best MMOs, but the game has stalled. Story telling was perhaps the best part of the game and it is lagging. Everyone knows that it is probably not possible to get new story content every 3 months, but it should be possible to get more than 2 times a year. last year (2024) the anniversary was hyped up, and the developer couldn't live up to that hype, what do we do with "date night" when there is "civil war" in the mandalorian clans and not to forget Malgus, what are his plans. I could go on for hours, but all in all, you just said what many are thinking and from my point of view it is the truth Stay true to yourself and may the force be with you.

Good devs should always welcome criticisms, it's criticisms that lets them know how to improve the game, praise lets them know they're on the right path and to keep doing it. Toxic positivity will drive games over the cliff, it's criticisms that will try to correct and put it on the right path. Sad that some devs just have fragile egos and would rather only listen to yes-men and ignore critics. Well critics play/played the game and swtor is in no position to be losing them at this stage. This channels thumbnails are very drama clickbaity and bombastic and seem to only display one opinion, so people who might not have actually watched many of your videos probably get the wrong idea, I understand the lumping. That actually is what I thought this Chanel was before one of the videos auto played one day. But when you actually click on one of, they’re pretty balanced and often tend to lean more positive, and you will give the game and the people behind the scenes credit when and where it’s due. You probably would tick off some of the people who are really discouraged by some of the game decisions. You also still encourage people to keep playing the game, where it feels like some others who speak out about the games issues are all doom and gloom and actively discourage new players. When in reality if we want the game to survive and some of these things to get better, especially if we want to be listened to, we need a strong player base and healthy community. Driving new players away is not fixing any of the issues and I do think there may be a few people out there that are so pessimistic about the game (or Star Wars in general) that they just want it to die. I can sort of empathize with that nihilism I guess, but like, it’s not helpful and I a don’t see the point in fighting for the game to die.

You bring up some great points, and I couldn't agree more! We need to come together, which is why a few of us bigger content creators formed a Discord to do just that. I have always believed in being fair and balanced, that's just my nature. At the same, I will push back and return fire if I deem it a worthy fight. There are times when we NEED to bring attention and conversation to bad behavior. That person who wrote that reddit....my door is always open to them. No hate. We need to find a common ground. We (for the most part as you've mentioned) want to save this game. Thanks for your comment, I really enjoyed it.

One thing I want to highlight is that the game has been sluggish ever since 5.0, story content was relegated to twice a year, we had that iokath operation release piecemeal. This isn’t a new issue, and it goes further back than the current dev team. Take a look back at patchnotes from the era, you will see

Outside of Charles leaving....the dev team is pretty much the same. We just see new faces cause now they have been promoted. But you're right, I would argue that it was with 6.0 that everything started to unravel. What I believe is needed is a new leader. Someone who will come in and tighten the ship. We shall see what happens!

True, but I would argue that those were of a equal balance. Yes, the message was there...but for both. It wasn't in your face so to speak. As an audience we could relate to who we wanted to, or we could be indifferent. Yet, we walked away both experiencing an epic story that has forever been cemented into our minds and souls.
