@@justafanfave228 It is not a lie. He was the first Jamaican male to break the world record. As a born Jamaican living here in Canada I’m so proud of my Jamaican athletes. Male and female. It’s hard to have a 9-5 and then train at the level it’s takes to reach the olympics. After a 8hr work I don’t even want to get of the couch to do a 10-15 min workout. We need to constantly support and most importantly appreciate our athletes. Big up to you for speaking some sense to the short memory ppl. More blessings. Pls put out more workout videos 💯

You are so correct that other countries hold their athletes in high regards for just being an Olympian. In the US they are paid for each medal; however the Jamaican Gov't might not have the funds, but the private sector should show some support. I cannot fathom why Jamaicans would want to bash their own, because being an athlete is no easy fete, it takes sacrifice, dedication and determination. Let's give it up for all athletes and when they return treat them well because they are our national trasures.

The word “Olympian” is celebrated in the U.K. they don’t need to win no Olympic medal. That U.K. 100m girl is on yoghurt in supermarkets. They regularly come on TV games shows. They visit schools. They are invited and celebrated on many platforms. We as Jamaicans should know that getting there in itself is an amazing reward. The history of the olympics is a great great thing. It’s derived from the Greek gods I believe. I’m so so proud of each and every one. So many great athletes give up along the way.

Asafa, your take on the TEAM making it to the OLYMPIC GAMES is so on point… it’s certainly isn’t only about winning or podium placement, but you can’t discount the fact that SHERICKA’S judgment as a SENIOR ATHLETE as you pointed out, can’t be beyond criticism….we’re not killing her… I’m sure SHERICKA is disappointed in herself because she knew she was a medal contender in the 200M, which is her better event, especially since she’s a 400M runner… Anyways, that aside, you’re DEAD RIGHT…anyone who makes it to the OLYMPICS is an OLYMPIAN, not to mention being the 1st or 8th fastest persons in the world after the FINALS…TEAM JAMAICA EVERY TIME…WIN, LOOSE OR DRAW!!!

Yes is true, the Jamaican athletes get the most respect, love and support from Londoners. I remember 2014 even the police were posing with Jamaicans flags. All of the Caribbean respect and love Jamaican athletes. It's like you're all representing the entire Caribbean. We will continue to love, respect and admire all Caribbean athletes 💙.. Jamaica is leading the way 🤩🥰🥰

Well said Asafa!! Thank you for speaking up for the athletes and in particular Jamaicans. Thanks for highlighting what Ja's athletes are undergoing. Yes, we're and should be extremely proud of all our athletes whether or not they medal. Kudos to our 3 ladies in the 100m👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Hopefully the 200m and relay will be rewarding. But regardless, they should still be commended!!

@@owenwhyte6400 Yes mi G people have a right to talk suh when our athletes are at their lowest point, talk n crucify dem not encourage them. People have a right fi bury dem and hurt dem and demean them not uplift and be empathetic. Yuh right people have a right to kill with their words. Usain recently in an interview with Yendi said words spoken about him by Oral Tracey in a TVj sports commentary hurt him badly and he was exceptional but Oral Tracey has his own opinion and uttered it and this caused a deep pain. We have a right to talk but at the same time in a sport where every race is different, every year is different, we should really be kind. Thats6what is lacking in our society. We are not kind.

Thanks, Asafa, for being forthright in expressing truth about the consciousness of most of our people as it relates to competitive sports. All athletes, barring none, is worthy of encouragement and praise. One Love to all the sports warriors who have been inspired and have been courageous enough to represent their country in such and entertaining way. Our children in primary education need to be mobilized, from early as kindergarten, about good sportsmanship. 🇯🇲🎉🥰🤩

Thanks asafa for shedding light on this. Well said. Jamaica spent 1.3 billion on stupid harmony park for tourists of course. The athletes could use some that money. No priority. I live in canada and we always cheer for the Jamaicans. Believe in their abilities. So proud to cheer for them. 👏👏❤
