I was abused in every way as a child, which led to 30 years of crime, drug and alcohol addiction, and inevitably 14 yrs in prison, I hated myself and the world as a whole. I am 39 now and I praise and thank God every morning for my trauma, he was molding me to fulfill my purpose, I'm clean, free, and I am working in the behavior health field helping others make it through hard times. I’m a 23 year old suffering from cancer … it all started on 2019 … I have gone through 2surgeries ,22 cycles of chemotherapy, two radiation therapy, still on treatment … nothing worked on me … but I’m still alive … not because of anything I took nor because of my own strength…. God brought me closer to him … through suffering I came more closer to him… loved him more … learned to ask for his grace everyday …. And his strength is what keeps me going…. I'm 21, 3 years ago I was locked in a psyche ward in jail for a year after being hooked on weed, acid, mushrooms, drinking, porn, and all sorts of unclean things I did in search of fulfillment. I lost my mind and Jesus was the only One I had to call on. I called on Him and He picked me up, cleaned my life and now I have a reason to live. Now I have hope not only for the next life, but I have hopeful ambitions of being a husband and raising a family in the future, making music, and telling others that there's a reason for this whole existence. He also has a really big scar in the bend of his elbow from the doctors ripping his skin at birth trying to go a difficult intubation since he was 13 weeks early. Struggled with depression after loosing one of my daughters. This song uplifts me. I’m going to live a productive life! I’m hella mad , the devil can no longer steal my joy. About three years ago I was on an operating table to have a painful cyst removed from my head. Exactly one year prior to the day I lost both of my parents in one day with my dad committing suicide. I am old lol middle aged . I am active I workout regulary and excersise . Two months ago I developed a blood clot in my thigh I did not know I had . I was working out it broke free I passed out and the clot traveled to my lungs . I had extensive clots in my lungs . I spent a week and a half in intensive care . Every Dr. said what I had kills most people and Im fortunate to be here . Life is so short perfectally healthy one minute Death bed the other . I hope you know this was not your fault but Instead is because someone took their free will and abused that by sinning against you. Please know that God does care and will ultimately hold the people that hurt you accountable. It's so hard to feel and experience God's love when those around us who are supposed to protect, love and help us don't. Still God cares and has a plan to make it right in spite of all the ways others have failed us and the ways we fail and fall short oursevles. God paid the price for all of our sin by coming down to earth and being a perfect sacrifice, allowing himself to be abused to pay the price for all of our sins. Reading these comments is so powerful and I am so thankful for my scars, I am 16 and I am not going to get to deep into my story, but 2 years ago, My 13 year old brother, My 7 year old sister, my mom, and me were all attacked with a knife by my mom's fiance. me and my little sis made it out but my brother and mom didn't. So I am so thankful for God and everything he has done for me and my family.

I went through self harms in high schools and I remember when I accepted Christ and stop there where scars I felt ashamed. But my Youth pastor said make it your testimony so I did and God Bless me because you can see those scars but for me there but those scars I am not ashamed I thankful for them because without them I would have given my life to Christ. I hope today we teach theses youth that the scars they have does mean they can not because a son or daughter Christ. He accepts us as we are not as we pretend to be I will never be ashamed what I went through and if It means going through it again to be where I am today I would do it again. In my teens and early 20's I was a predator, drug mule, rageful man that went to prison. In the depths of despair and just before I committed a deed that would have landed me in prison for life, God showed up in a miraculous way!! Now just before my 60th birthday, I can say "I am thankful for the scars"!! Without them I would be lost, would not have recognized God's unfailing love for me and would have not received the God loving wife of 35 years, 5 kids and 4 grandkids.... Praise the Almighty!!

This songs reminds me of the hardest time of my live. Three years ago I get bullied at school. The other kids expelled me and showed me every day how undiserable I am and that I dont fit into class. I cried often after school,I saw no meaning in my live anymore and I felt like god left me. Than I changed school but it took me nearly two years to get mentally well again. Dad died when I was 16, and the scar of that and the aftermath of the rest of my families grief has shaped me in every single way. Though God has used the death of my father, I am married to a wonderful man and have three beautiful daughters God helped orchestrate people to pay for our entire wedding and opened doors to allow us to own a home in one of the most expensive states. I know that I wouldnt have even given my husband a chance had my father been living. But God placed him in my life in the perfect timing to give me someone to comfort me. Those scars still hurt sometimes but then I remember all the blessings that God has given me, all of which I didnt deserve. He was faithful and chased after my heart and by His grace He gave me faith to truly love and live again instead of being closed off and "safe".

There are two types of believers: Those who struggle and liars. Forty eight years ago, following my mother's death to a drunk driver, I was a drummer in a rock band into drugs, drinking, and immorality. After a night in jail, someone told me eternal life was the gift of God and I believed in Christ. I've taught in a Christian university and been a pastor for 37 years. In our church are former heroin addicts and alcoholics. NOTHING is greater than a person who has realized a bit of the mess they are and has met grace! Give me a church full of people who get it. I will forever be grateful for the One who paid for the sins of His enemies. Can't wait to meet the many of you on here who have been met with grace. Pastor, please forgive me but your bold statement about two different types of believers is not exactly accurate. Read romans 10:9,10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The Bible only talks about one kind of believer. And furthermore, what you call your struggles I might call more than a conqueror, victors, a learning experience. I am truly thankful for every battle I have had to walk through, not once did I ever walk alone so they are not mine and I do not consider them struggles at all I choose to see them as God showing me who he is and who I am. Pastor I have lived my life to long as a victim and I am done with that role. I am not called to be a struggler I am called to be more than a conqueror. Matthew 12:36 and 37 talks about watching your words so pastor which is it? Did God call you to struggle or conquer? Believers that choose not to look at their battles as struggles are not liars. Just like you seeing yourself as someone who struggles does not make you any less of a child of God thank you sir for listening to me.

We all get eternal life by faith in Christ. Following our reception of life, the Apostle Paul then talks about life after we believe in Galatians 5:16 and Romans 7:14-25. The normal Christian life is characterized by struggle since we are still in bodies that battle against the desire of the new person within us. As John writes, If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Sin is ever present. Paul says in Romans 7:22-24 "For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?" He also says that "If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin" (Rom. 8:10). He also writes in Gal. 5:17" For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish." Do you see? He says as a Christian, we often "do not do the things (we) wish". Paul says that if Christ is in us, our bodies are "dead". He says in Romans 7 that our flesh brings us into "captivity". Struggle is normal. My point was that all Christians struggle if they are honest. But, while all Christians struggle, that doesn't mean they can't have victory. The Spirit of God can empower our bodies and give us victory (Romans 8:11 and Galatians 5). My life as a believer has been helped greatly from learning from those struggles. So, since we are still in the flesh, we all have struggles. But while we are in the flesh, we don't have to walk according to the flesh. We can have victory and overcome by the power of the Spirit. God's desire and enabling seeks to lead us to growth and victory through His Spirit. I hope that helps you understand my point.

Almost three years that God gave me a second chance to live after been shot in the back of my neck and the bullet almost leaving me paralyzed, to having 25 to 30% chance of surviving a c2 to c5 spinal fusion. I promised God with all my heart in tears if he would give me a second chance I would play 🎸 for him at my parents church! And three years later I am there worshipping him with my guitar, after two years of constant physical therapy for my right arm (i was unable to move it due to the damage the bullet did to my nervous system.) But Amen God is good!! I touch that scar every day and thank God for this chance to be able to worship him!
