I am saddened by the loss of your mother pig especially since you’re doing such a good job of looking after all your animals, you care for them with a passion and you’re so clean in all your food preparation‘s. my sincere sympathy for your emotional as well as financial loss. I have often wondered about the standing water by the pig pens. I know the pigs enjoy rolling in the mud however, they also snoop around in it, and your chickens are drinking from it. This is a perfect breeding ground for disease and growing bacteria. It would be much better if that area was kept dry. I’m sorry I don’t mean to lecture you. This is only my opinion and you must do what you see fit for you. I wish you success in life and lots of luck. I admire you for your strength. Please drain the pool of water near the pig’s pen. It’s a breeding ground for mosquitoes. It takes 8 days from eggs to adult mosquitoes. If it’s swine fever,the rest of your pigs are doomed. And you make a good tracker having tracked the pig down.
