just a suggestion for a build on this game, try to do a super regening hullbreaker... (try to get hidden power, and use the mod that gives +100% regen and removes sheild... then crash into everything)

A couple tips from someone who's tried doing a stealth drone build, enemies will target the drones around you! Also, taking both the mods required to make a super mod only adds that super mod to the random mod pool!

Fun fact: despite how long it can take to fire a full salvo, many weapon mods count it as one shot/projectile despite the massive quantity you fire. This means that the stealth bonus and calibration bonus apply to the full salvo and not just the first shot. It also means antimatter rounds don’t damage yourself when you fire them.

TL;DR Invest in safety traits, and Dying Star Quickly becomes OP, especially with spectre. The self damage of Dying Star (as well as most self damage besides Seige Weaponry) is flat self damage. Meaning as you level up and gain regeneration and self damage resistance, you can very easily outpace the self damage. Plus, self damage doesn't interrupt the shield cooldown. Ramming other ships, however, doesn't count as self damage.

I love this game, and the stealth ship is great. You go visible if you fly too fast, too answer your question at 12:50, and things will also target your little drones, because those don't stealth with you, so not necessarily the best combo (although they have an upgrade tree that lets them fly around on their own killing things).

One of my favorite builds involves the engineer, Shockwave shield, shielded constructs, and drones. You're surrounded by a lot of mini constructs that constantly push enemies and bullets away with their shield

this build doesnt work as well rn unfortunatly. in the enemies overhaul update there were some enemies that have these little barriers or something at the front. when you fire at them they build up and then they unleash it and it does a bunch o dmg to you. the thing is constructs dont know that so they build up that by shooting at it and then bad stuff will happen. still kinda good build besides that.

If you turn on the Speedrun Timer in the menus, it will tell you the wave and elapsed time in the bottom left of your screen continually instead of having to wait until the wave changes.

Discord orbs are such a good mod as its free damage! It is especially good if you are focused on one strong weapon as they help with wave clear. Also if you want to learn more (Lol I know DF) check out Ultra C, the probably have the most nova drift videos out there and are SUPER knowledgeable

If you wnat to break the game. You have to try a ram build. Your gonna need Celestial lance, hullbreaker, and as much hukl regen as possible. To start thiugh get the flak gun its a decent gun if your not gonna upgrade it, pass on the shield upgrade(your shield will be removed later), and ignore all hulls except hullbreaker. Speedrun celestial lance, as much thrust and regen as possible(rapid reconstruction), and be sure to have wild mods on for the later game where youll focus self damage resistance and thrust.

Bonus Game Tip for DF (before my actual comment): YOU are cloaked from all the enemies when you're at full cloak, your constructs are not... Including the drones you have circling right around you. So while the enemies can't specifically see you, they'll easily hit you in the cross-fire as collateral damage while the drones are around you. Nova Drift is a really nice introductory into the world of "Rain of Bullet" games like this. Also called "curtain of bullets" or the more popular "Bullet-Hell", but I prefer not to use that last one. It's a very accessible shooter. And once you've had about as big of a blast as you can getting consistently as far as you can, you can always have a go at the achievements. A good amount of them (in my experience) are kind of like little puzzle-modes. Try and figure out which build you need to do to accomplish the achievement. I STILL can't figure out some of them yet. But I'll keep trying dang it, because it's so FUN! PS: I can't remember if I commented similarly last time. It's hard to keep track of all your own comments sometimes. And I'm pretty sure I'll bring up the "achievements as puzzles" things if there are more videos. Because I think that's a really clever use of achievement systems. :)

Specter needs you to remain "slow" and not fire in order for the stealth to engage and remain active. The moment you fire, it breaks stealth. Thrust for more than a few moments, it breaks stealth. If you are actively thrusting or firing then stealth will not engage. While cloaked you are completely invisible to all enemies, however they can still see your constructs, that includes drones, blades and the bastion shield. As Specter, thrust mods and "Slipstream" wild mods are your friend. Short bursts of thrust do not break stealth though longer bursts and sustained thrust will, Slipstream reduces friction and lets you both pick up more speed with each burst and sustain that speed better. Going fast does not actually break stealth, only continuous thrust, so you can stack thrust mods and simply tap the thrusters to evade attacks and remain undetected. Conversely, it does not matter how much you reduce your speed, you still break stealth by using your thrusters for more than a few moments. Similarly, stealth only breaks as long as the fire button is held, stacking burst count or building a large salvo does not interrupt stealth recovery as long as you do not hold the fire key, and stealth will not start until you release the fire key no matter how slowly your weapon fires.

Though I know the devs responded to my request before hopefully they're reading this but... does this game work on steam deck yet/is it optimized for it? I know I plan to get mine after Q3 and I know mouse isn't really optimal for this game. But keyboard and mouse mixture or just keyboard becomes uncomfortable for me over time.
