Rob, please get someone very experienced to drive the 3 rotor around a track for a couple laps. Not only would it be awesome to see how fast that car could go but also the information you could receive is invaluable. I agree that you should drive the 4 rotor but the 3 rotor is definitely a track weapon.

feel the same that a pro could probably find the week spot of the car and know how to fix them. i have driven car on track with setups that i think feel nice controlable and comfy but it could only be driven to a pace slight over what i done and if i try to force the car to go faster the car almost instantly loose everything. the other way is also that i tested cars that i feelt that the car does wierd things becaus its not setup for my style of driving and im as a driver could not manage to drive the car aggresive and forcefull to the point where it had maximum performance.

My family has volunteered our tow truck's many of times & been involved with many of the local racing families. Between you & Lia Block & the electric Porsche this year im so going to be there! Reach out to some of the local racing families they are always very eager to help as we love this race & are very motivated to keep it going even though our all the road blocks that are being thrown trying to stop the Hill climb. Your temps are probably going to go up as you go up in altitude. Keep that in mind. if you’re overheating in 10 minutes at sea level, you will overheat before that at pikes Peak
@wobblysauce

Yep, coolers are oversized for sea level, but you can also run fewer fan airflow, or the same cooler and max the fans, but have more draw. Only one of the options has available dissipation

@@wobblysauce other thing is that with cooling is at sea level the cooling is fine but half way up the peak air pressure drops and the point of boiling is lowered so the pressure in the cooling system needs to handle high pressure at the start of the run or got the ability to work with raising the pressure like the cabin of an airplane to hold the same level of pressure in the system and prevent cooking the cooling fluid despite gain in altitude.

Having lived near Pikes Peak for 20 years, and worked in hi tech process engineering, remember that not only is the air density much lower, but so is the oxygen content. Sea level air has 20.9% oxygen, air at the top of Pikes Peak has 12.3% oxygen. Best of luck brother! Also as a reference, F1 makes tons of modifications to their cars to race in Mexico City (elevation 7,300 feet), aero, cooling and engine management.

"Although air contains 20.9% oxygen at all altitudes, lower air pressure at high altitude makes it feel like there is a lower percentage of oxygen." 12.3% is the "effective" oxygen percentage accounting for the atmospheric pressure loss, not the actual percentage, so you're really getting ~60% of the oxygen atoms at sea level, meaning about 40% power loss. you can make up for loss of oxygen with more boost though. if you're running nitromethane or other fuel that contain oxygen atoms the engine will be less affected by atmospheric pressure

well this feels privileged but I've been I think 5 times and don't really find it worth going. The best part was just hanging out with friends, and a bit of a camping vibe. But it's a long couple days and I always leave dehydrated and with a migraine. You only see the cars go by for like 5 seconds, and you're fully trapped in your camp until the event is over with a slow climb down in complete traffic. Something like a full track day at PPIR or high plains is more worth it imo, or especially events like Slush Festival or Gridlife Horizon Festival both at PPIR However if you do go to pikes peak, we would go to Clen Cove and hike up the small mountain to the east. Probably a 15 minute hike. You get a great cool view without being altitude sick and freezing cold at devils canyon. There's a restaurant there as well kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaKtqKeVZ9aXpaM

I look forward to seeing your progress on this! I have tuned a couple cars that run PPIHC (not a hill climb expert by any means, but I have learned a few things). You'll want to make sure you have cooling ironed out well. The higher you go, the less efficient your coolers will be. Increase fluid capacities for oil and coolant if you can, and make sure you have good ducting and spacing between your heat exchangers. Also, if you are not doing it already, get on youtube (or racing sim) and start memorizing the track. A lot of the corners look the same going in but very different coming out. I'm excited to see you do this and will be following along.

Oh man, congratulations! So excited to see the development for this, not to say the event itself. I feel like your channel has just gone from strength to strength in the past year.

I wish Rob Dahm would take me as an apprentice to train me on how to build rotary engines from scratch… I just want to learn how to build a brand new Renesis engine to put into my 40th anniversary I recently bought. Amazing content as always Rob!!! 😇

You are such a bad ass following all of those giants that came before you, as well as walking with on the journey. Looking forward to a very amazing journey for you and the team. Get out there and walk in the confidence that you've got a great team backing you and working toward making it so you can focus on your goal. Cant wait for this run to take place and for you to crush it and record those tears of overwhelming joy. Get out there and kick ass!!

Congratulations! It's amazing to see how far you've come over the past few years, from a weird dude with an obsession with building an insane car no one expected to become a reality, to building it, and evolving into a racer. Can't wait to see how you do on the mountain.
