I've sent out a lot of postacrds asking for free stuff, and I've had success. It works best with small companies, who sell products exclusively at places like Whole Foods. One time I got a knit grocery bag with three jars of sunflower butter and it was sent via UPS. So it was worth about $30. I found it was best to ask for coupons rather than free product. If I did get a free product coupon, I'd only have to pay sales tax on the item. Bubbies sent me only a pickle jar opener, but I still use it ten years later.
