I interviewed strangers to find out what French people really think about Britai, British people and the British culture. I was really surprised by the responses!
Also, after some introductions, I asked some tricky trivia questions! :)
The result is an interesting, fun and relaxing video, and we also learn some new things! :)

I may as well have been attempting to speak to him in some obscure Chinese dialect than in French, but maybe he was just having a bad day! But apart from him, I absolutely love the French. 😊 P.S. I did study French to advanced level for six years at school, but that was a long time ago. So I can admit that my French is rusty, but I didn't think it was incomprehensible. Now I know the same is true the other way around. I know English people who've moved to France, and who were helped out by locals when they needed help with understanding how to do something. Glad to hear they were looked after and treated right in Britain. For old enemies, you've turned out to be remarkably good friends. I agree with the sentiment about Britain and British things being in Britain and France and French things being in France. It's important each of our cultures survive, both have contributed vastly to human advancement, both must be encouraged to continue developing according to the wants and whims of our respective peoples. So that can continue. Leaving the EU was (for me) in part about that. Not about disliking anything French or German, completely the opposite. I recently visited Berlin (30 years later) and was disappointed by how much of my culture and language was everywhere. Berlin should be German, a bit of England/English mixed in is one thing, but in places there was as much England/English as there is in London. Didn't seem right to me. I loved (just as much as I did 30 years ago) Berlin, but it could have done with having less of my ways and language in it.

im an English guy,now living Thailand and ive lived in South Africa and Turkey, you become used to mixing in a friendly way with other nationalities, ive travelled in Europe and found most people in different countries friendly and helpful...one instance...i was driving in France from Cherbourg to the Vendee region and it was at night, running late,i was in central Narbonne, omg, which way? to the Vendee coast(cant remember the resort town)i stopped side of road and saw this guy walking into some apartments,so i called to him in some broken French,he stopped and was friendly and he told me in broken English after i asked Si vouz plai, route Vendee(and at that time name of town)he said ah,Statue Napoleon La droit(right)direct 15 k...and find correct road...any way i say Merci, got in my car and head towards traffic lights and statue,a flash of lights and he pulled in front of me and took me 15 k to correct road....merci monsoir, entente cordial,i have him a hug and shake of hands...nice helful guy and id do the same for any foreigner i meet..ok we have this past with the French, whether Fighting in different old wars but our past is intermingled, our small Island was a mix of Saxon,Viking, then the Normans(who were of Viking decent)then shaped our country of UK,I believed in Brexit, not because of any particular country in Europe but these idiots in Brussels dictating to us,losing our identity etc,i love English and French cheeses, especially Brie,Caemenbert and my favourite drink is Cognac or Napolean brandy....ive been in Thailand 14 years,i play in Two pool teams in one i have a French Canadian player, when hes going to play a game i always wish him Bon Chance,he appreciates i try French with him, those British that have never travelled tend to be more insular but those like me who have travelled and picked up bits of other languages tend to get on better with other peoples,i speak some German, some Turkish, and Afrikaans, always helps,in my other pool team im captain of,i have several Belgian Flemish, one American,Dutch guy,but their English ok but i use Afrikaans sometimes,we all get on ok.

As a Scot, we’ve always had a soft spot for the French! They’ve shaped so much of our culture here in Scotland (and the UK as a whole), and honestly, I’d stand with France for the pastries alone-proper French patisserie is truly second to none. This is the hill I’m prepared to die on! 🤣 You might hear the occasional cheeky joke down in England about 'The French,' but please don’t mistake our British sense of humour for disdain-we mock what we hold dear. The French have played such an important role in our shared history that a bit of friendly teasing just shows how much we value the connection.
