Idk about it being exclusively teenagers being the sole reason for fandoms going to shit. I've unfortunately come across many adults well into their late 20s-30s, sometimes older, who are just the biggest degens [/neg] when it comes to anything fandom-related. When you see grown-ass adults throwing a tantrum over their favourite characters being the best thing ever and calling you slurs or even flat out threatening you if you disagree, you really just wish to burn your devices and never see a screen again.

You learn that at that level, there is as much ego as there is innovation. Although in the end you do become more educated on the perspective of the educated and the upper class who you can spot from those working on grants or from workers.
