Great to see you getting the 2-cyl engine put back together. Was about 25 years ago when a friend and I bought and restored a 420C. The brakes and clutches were in tough shape, but the engine was good. Could not find a winch for the rear so we could log with it, but it was a powerful little crawler. Wish you the best.. envious of your ability to get that block back in shape for the build.

Don’t forget to throw a little oil in the cylinders. It sounds a little dry when you spin it over. I normally let the pistons sit in a pan of oil so the rings get soaked then take a oily rag and wipe the cylinder down before installing the pistons.

please prelube the oil pump by working some assembly lube in to the pump by turning the shaft.. so it has a chance of starting.. when the engine has oil in it.. please remove the sending unit or the filter.. and spin the engine till oil starts to flow out of the open passage.. then reinstall which ever you removed and spin it another 10 seconds.. this should properly prime the oil system ,... attempting to prime the oil pump with the system sealed above it will result in a dry start and damaged rod, main and cam bearing surfaces. please squirt some assembly lube inside the rear main seal and lube the seal face with the assembly lube. so it never runs dry.. i did not see you squirt oil on the piston rings.. so you might want to squirt half a pump into each cylinder of engine oil. if you oiled the rings then you can do without.
