Great video Danny!!! Reminds me of the time I was dating 60+ years ago. I was introduced to a wonderful and beautiful Chinese girl. The first time we were on a date she asked me to take her for a “special” Chinese lunch about 45 miles from where she and her mom lived. To my BIG surprise, it was a vegan Chinese restaurant! The biggest surprise was one of the items we ordered. Some made out of veggies that look exactly like a halibut fish. It actually very delicious as was the other entrees we ordered. She gave me a long lecture on the way back to her home regarding the ideal man she desired. It wasn’t me! After I delivered her to her home I thanked her for a wonderful day and hurried as fast as I could to a Calbi Korean restaurant just down the street. As good as the imitation halibut was, the Korean beef was a thousands times better than more delicious!!!! Funny thing now is if I had listened to her I probably would have never had a triple bypass or diabetes!!!!!!

For a high end restaurant at a resort like that the prices were as expected. I wouldn't say reasonable because I'm more value based but the prices definitely were not outrageous. Typical high end steakhouse prices. We should all eat what we want and respect other people's preferences.

This was surely an enjoyable excursion. That said: I am not quite certain why DTM opted for a vegan chop in that he was, in this instance and context, an inveterate carnivore in a reputed steakhouse. Like his dining companions, I don't quite buy the frugality tale, as he dines often at pricey venues. On a related note: when I am not performing surgery or professoring in a variety of medical school courses, I engage in my preferred avocation as restaurant reviewer. Invited, as I often am, to author commentaries on high-end establishments, I had the opportunity recently to review Carversteak. The experience was not unpleasurable and the culinary selections (recommended by the maitre d') were reasonably good. But, the dining experience simply does not compare favorably with, for example, those at the best New York steakhouses -- Gallagher's, Keen's, Peter Luger and Delmonico's, to cite but several among the many. Be that as it may.... Cheers!

Wow these prices are eye-watering. The entrees OK, they cost what they cost but $22 for BREAD? $32 for a crab cake?$19 for mushrooms? $22 for mac and cheese?? $16 for french fries? $6 for sauce??? I'm sorry but for people who live outside the US this is criminal. When you factor in tax and tip and couple of drinks you are easily looking at more than $200 a person. I expect a Michelin star for that kind of payout. Also I live in Tokyo and $275 for a 5 oz wagyu steak is insane. At the current dollar favorable exchange rates you can get the same steak at a high end steakhouse in Tokyo like the Oak Door at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi for about $80 with tax and we don't have to pay any tip here. I don't know what their wholesale cost is but there is no practical justification for the steak costing 5x what it does in Japan. People in the US complain about inflation and blame the government but it is not really connected to any kind of cost to the business, they are just screwing you guys over. If Danny is ever in Tokyo I will take him to the Oak Door and he won't need to eat any BS vegan steak.

It was hilarious to see you eat a muffin before going to the expensive steak house. Close to where I live there is a very high end fu-fu restaurant where people with more money than brains eat. For $300 a plate you get a smear of this, a tiny goup of that. half a grape ( I am not kidding) with a eeny teeny leaf & some bird seed. You walk out of there more hungry that when you walked in. But your wallet is quite a bit lighter.
