My favorite dark type is Grimsnarl (love it’s design, and when starting a frind session in a mono-grass run, I found, first encounter and full odds, a shiny Impidimp that I transfered to Sword via Home). But I absolutely love Zorua and Hydreigon as well.

As someone who exclusively uses dark and ghost types I know there are two Pokemon that can be extremely OP Absol - with super luck Psycho cut Night slash Air slash X-Scissor Bisharp - any ability Low kick X-scissor Night slash Iron head I can beat all of sword/shield with just just those two

Doing this with Pokemon Y and god does it start off hard. You only have Froakie until you reach Route 5 to get Pancham or Scraggy. That means you have to fight both the first gym leader and Professor Sycamore with just one pokemon.
