The problem with Madden trade logic is that they see every player as a net positive. It takes a human to recognize that there are some players you'll give away for nothing just to clear up cap space.

Well yeah, but there needs to be a simulation mode for people who want a realistic franchise experience. If players are making their teams unfair in an offline franchise, who cares? One of the reasons why Madden lags behind other sports games is because it severely lacks customization.

It used to be even worse, in the opposite direction years ago (Peyton Hillis is on the cover of the last Madden I bought). When playing franchise, would trade all my picks when the best team, to the worst team straight up at the deadline, and they would accept. Then each offseason, would sign a couple high rated players to 1 year deals, then trade them for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (since 3 was the limit at that time, then resign them and do it again the next year). Would end up with the max picks you could have, then for the draft, it would let you see the exact stats for 5 players. Would check them, write them down, reset the game, and do 5 more. So would draft great players every damn time.
