The only two suggestions I might have are (1) use a good butter creme icing recipe. Butter creme is SO much better than the canned stuff and is super easy to make. And (2) ice between the layers to help “cement” the structure so they don’t start sliding and getting wonky. Btw, you can do this on a smaller scale with Barbie dolls and simple round cake pans (however I love your use of the bundt cake pans!). Excellent job dad!!

I was a single parent and, for specific reasons, did not want my daughter's sperm donor in our lives. I've had some guilt about that for the past 30 years or so. Life leads us in ways we can never understand, and I can't let decisions in the past continue to consume the present. However, my daughter somehow connected with him online about 3 years ago. She never shared any information with me, and I didn't really care to know.

The best ingredient was all the love poured into making this cake. The only change I would make would be to match the frosting to the color of the dress, but most dads don't think of those things. It is beautiful as it is!

Omgosh this is the most precious thing. A kid will never forget things that their mom or dad did like this. This is thoughtful, creative, and just makes the kid feel special. My mom always did little things like this and I'm 40 now but I remember every little thing she did because it meant so much to me. We didnt have money, so she had to use her imagination at times. I didn't think you could get any more like my Papa and somehow you did it! You took the cake! He used to make us each a fun shaped cake of our choosing (80s) before bakeries made anything besides the standard fancy ones. Butterflies, castles, caterpillars, trains and our favorite characters. He was known for his cakes and every school event he would bake a massive cake(christmas trees, four leaf clovers, hearts, pumpkins, etc.) You have no idea how much these gestures mean to them, or maybe you do but from the perspective of a little girl who wishes she could have thanked her papa more for every little thing- Thank you for being such a wonderful and amazing dad, you really go the extra mile and make their lives magical. You are their world.

That’s awesome! My dad would never! Turned out great! My only suggestion for the decorating part is maybe use real frosting. I think it pipes better (also tastes way better) and contrary to popular opinion frosting is incredibly easy to make. No matter how it turns out it’s guaranteed to be better than the canned stuff. Takes 5min with a mixer. Colors are easy too if you get the food coloring gel. Might be better option out there. I got some great frosting recipes & tips from Sugarologie shorts on KZbin. Might even be fun to make a small one for your daughter to decorate herself. Put it all together but the base layer of frosting on it and then set up a decorating station. Get little candy pearls, etc. but all that stuff is just extra… you really did amazing here
