The Christmas of 1970, my step-dad got me the Dark Shadows record album. I screeched with delight because I was wanting one. I memorized every part of that album. Life was great back then. I was 15.

Yes, so carefree, so much hope...so much fun! I was a horror film fan from childhood on, and loved DS! Had the vinyl soundtrack, now I have the CD. When things get tough, I often head towards Collinsport!

WOW! I love the way you presented the images and voice of Jonathan Frid reading that poem! This video is a masterpiece! TFS! ~Janet in Canada

I know, right? I did enjoy the prime-time reboot in the 90's, but unfortunately the Gulf War ruined it's chances to be seen. "Dark Shadows: Reincarnation" was just rejected by the CW, but it could possibly be sold to a streaming service. I wont give up hope on DS! 🦇

@@anglomik It was abruptly canceled despite still thriving ratings. And the story line of Victoria should have been completed.

Why use a picture of Megachiroptera, a Megabat, an Australian Grey-Headed Flying Fox?? These are actually quite gentle and docile animals, with faces more like Terriers, I think. And to show scenes of California's Coastal Redwood forests, to evoke faux-spookiness. Those forests are nice and beautiful!

I appreciate the critique. I did this for fun. I'm not employed by Dan Curtis's co. It's just r a few moments of entertainment. To quote the Joker: "Why...so...SERIOUSS?!!"

Why the pictures of Victoria Winters interspersed with those of Barnabas as if his true love was Vickie? No, it's Josette who Barnabas loves. Vickie was a stand-in for Josette after Barnabas failed attempt to remake Maggie Evans into Josette when he re-emerged in the 20th Century. He moved to Vickie because she appreciated the past and so Barnabas believed her to be more pliant in making her into a stand-in for Josette. But who Barnabas loved and always did love was Josette Du Pres.

She unfortunately jumped to her death on Widow's Hill. If you watched the entire run of the show...Barnabas wooed many ladies! Anyway, thanks for watching!
@christophergraves672512 күн бұрын
@@anglomik Barnabas wooed many ladies, but most reminded him of Josette. The only exception was Angelique whom he rebounded to after he believed that he had lost Josette for reasons that were never disclosed. When whatever that problem was cleared up, he returned to Josette setting off Angelique's wrath. The writers later tried to portray this as Barnabas' true love, but that was a Soap Opera move simply to shock the audience. It was hyper unrealistic. While he did care for and was highly attracted to Angelique for a time when he believed that all hope with Josette was lost, he turned against her when he learned that she had tried to kill his beloved sister Sarah leading him to shoot Angelique. He had married Angelique, but only because she had pressured him to do so in exchange for healing Sarah after Angelique herself had induced Sarah to become sick unto death. Barnabas later turned down Angelique in 1897 when she expressed her love for him once again as he recalled her curse on him that not only had made him a vampire but also involved anyone whom he loved would die. Angelique's curse led to the deaths of Sarah, Josette, and Barnabas' mother. Barnabas' true love was Josette.

Dark Shadows was one of a kind. We'll never see it's like again.

@@larryaldrich4351 One-of-a-kind for sure, and groundbreaking! I do believe that in the right hands, it could play really well on a streaming service. We need some good, old-fashioned horror in prime-time!

Why did they have to make the movie comical ?? This was not a comedy show !! I watched it when I was younger and it was really good 👍 didn't like the movie at all , Barnabas was not a joke !! But that's just me. ✌️
