When I sae the convertible Firehawk and the WS6 pre match comparison, I put my money on the WS6 with headers. I was not disappointed. Convertibles weigh more because of extra support beams so they are slower.

At that time it was heads, a cam and a shit tune/wrong pushrods. I got the right pushrods and that helped a bunch. Now I added a little more and have been getting it tuned and it runs better! Thanks for watching my video!

By your slips I could tell you weren't getting the most out of the stall due to traction issues. Did you manage to put drags on it to cut the 60' times?

@@theokayestguy9167 is your trans built, if you are having 2-3 shift issues, like slippage, your clutch packs may be on their way out which is where I'm at for the moment. I'm still on 2.73s too when I hit that 1.7 60 foot times.

@@theokayestguy9167 if you are in street tires with a stall, it will be very hard to gain traction even with a prepped track. I was doing 2.3 60's on street tires with my ss3800 but when I put nitto drs on, went to 1.8 and 1.7s. Your mph is were the DA will affect your speed. Mid 80s is around 104 to 106 in the 1/4.

@@theokayestguy9167 also, I've been in the ls scene since 1999 when I first got my 99 TA and now have my z28. I also tune with hptuners and saw your car stalling which is def tune related. Increasing idle speed is one way but the best is adjusting the overspeed/underspeed setting. That worked wonders for me and got rid of the idle hunting.

The cam idling through the headers sounds fantastic. Are you planning on changing the cat-back/muffler eventually? I have a Borla mated to an ORY/LongTube but I have it dumped because the Borla was too quiet for me. I'm going to re-attach it after I get an aftermarket catalytic converter welded in + the electric cut out so I can switch between loud and respectful sound. Still stock camshaft here, though. lol

Conrad, on my full exhaust/SLP lid only WS6 I got high 4s like 4.7s if I remember on my best run so far 0-60 which you can see here kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2fWqmNqf9mDfac The Okayest Guy's 0-60 is probably a good 0.3 to 0.5s faster with his head/cam setup combined with his skilled launching. I also haven't gotten my car tuned yet, which probably isn't helping me. I can feel the power band moved up a little in the RPM range, but I did feel the power increase after switching from the stock manifold.

The infamous LS1 lifter *tick noise. My original motor in my 99 Trans Am did it, my 2009 Silverado did it.

Mine ended up being pushrods were to short.. The installer didn't measure right and put the wrong ones in. Once that was fixed it picked up some power. Still some valve train noise but not this bad.

Actually the ls1 lifters were way better than the later ls7 lifters. You can tell the difference by the ls1 lifters having only .065 travel. The ls7's have over .100 travel.

Looking at ur times unless im wrong.... ur running 8.8's in the 1/8th?.... My 95 LT1 TA Convertible ran 8.8's in the 1/8th and 13.8 in the 1/4 ,...with just bolt on mods cat back, k&n cai, Hypertech Power Programmer, Trans Go Shift kit, 3.73 rear gears, pulleys, air foil, 8mm wires ect. But bone stock ls1's were coming to the track running 8.5's to 8.7's on the 1/8th...I believe u shud be running a bit faster but this is a old 2017 vid so maybe ur time is better now!

Absolutely! What are your plans? That is really going to determine what route you want to go. I have definitely "wasted money" on things I thought would be good. He beat it because he got the jump and it's only a 1/8 mile race. Heads/cam/3200 stall I can totally buy him getting the jump. The stall with traction you can cut like a 1.6 second 60 foot or better. At sea level, this Ls1 is a 11 second car all day.

It was a hellcat and it did not beat me at the end. A stock 392? You are saying with with similar power but 900 lbs heavier its going to win? If you have owned both you will see its all the badges, wheels, hood are all hellcat. Even the license plate said "PUSYCAT". Also I did a freeze frame with the time slip.. Ravis Maximus if you read the description or watched the video you would see the WS6 has H/C. It is about 435 rwhp. The 392 with 485 crank is close to the 430-440 rwhp. Again 900 lbs heavier.

Did you watch the video? I put up the time slip on it. This is a 1/8 mile track and it wasn't prepped well due to it being a cruise to the strip and back. We both struggled with traction. I am not saying my car is fast, just that I beat a hellcat. I guess I missed your video of you running low 9s in the 1/4.

Modded car vas stock dont count ! My potna cammed full bolt on ss camaro barely beats my zl1 and he's quick to talk ish ! I'm like dummy u suppose to win you're modded !
