3 These longer playthroughs have a special vibe that I really dig. Reignited gets a lot of criticism, a lot of which is deserved, but I'm still glad that it exists. Firstly, because I genuinely enjoyed the games, especially soaking in the environments, after not having played any of the originals since childhood. But even more importantly, if it wasn't for Reignited I most likely wouldn't have been reintroduced to the original Spyro the Dragon and the amazing community around it!

@@Jroobelucios I’ve seen people unironically suggest that they should have allowed you the option to play with old graphics like they did with the music, and I’m just like… bro what? First off, it wouldn’t be remotely as simple for them to have a toggle for graphics as it was with the music, and second, just play the fucking originals lmao. Like why would they bother remaking a game from the ground up if they’re just going to give players the option to revert all the modern features and basically play a carbon copy of the old games? You could have an objectively perfect remake and people are still going to act like it’s terrible in comparison.

43:00 it has a mod where you can fly in the level, the "city" you saw there it's Sunny Villa, those mini levels of other characters it's hidden in the main level, it's very fun to use that mod because you can explore what you aren't supposed to see

When I played Reignited in 2021, I completed Spyro 1 and 2 to 100%. It took me roughly 6 hours total for each game. I did the Yeti Race in Super Bonus Round for an hour _alone,_ and I *still* didn’t beat it. A full 60 minutes of non-stop glitching through the floor, slamming into walls in the dumbest ways, etc. This game’s skateboarding physics are horrendous. My final time on Spyro 3 was 10 hours, and I’d bet that 4 of them were the skateboard and flight race sections.

You’re trying to do these special off the out of bounds glides and then being like “wow this game sucks see why Spyro 3 is hard to play” ya cause you’re bad at it. I just did all the speed way and skateboard challenges, and I wanted to throw the controller out the window. I can't remember the last time a game made me this frustrated. Great game but some of the controls really were overlooked.

it's the controls. The controls in Reignited are a lot worse than the original trilogy. Spyro dropping slightly when gliding is just awful, the flight stages feel like flying through rings on Superman N64, and I also encountered an issue that seems specific to me where I cannot turn while supercharging; Spyro is locked to forward movement, making High Caves impossible to beat 100% because you have to do a u-turn to get to the metal spiders. A game should never be made artificially more difficult with awful controls. 5/10 the presentation saves it, but the original trilogy is better so Reignited is pointless Count me out if they make any more Spyro games with these controls

The problems you’re describing are definitely a you problem, as I’ve had zero issues with the controls fully completing the trilogy. It doesn’t feel absolutely 1:1, but it’s better in some ways and maybe very slightly worse in others.

It’s not that hard to get used to. The didn’t have access to the original codes so they had to make do. There was no way they’d get it perfect and in line with the original, since they had to make the whole trilogy ground-up. In just over a year, too. It’s a tall task.

I just finished it last night (all skill points, achievements, 117%), played on Xbox one. The course record skill point on lost fleet was awful. The resets took forever, and every time I reset it got more and more laggy, forcing me to restart the console every 10 tries or so. It really feels like they just gave up as the games went on. The skill points and achievements got more and more generic, the bosses/enemies got buggier with wonkier hitboxes and timing, and the flight levels were much more linear and less imaginative. The desert mines had those quick draw lizards that were absolute horseshit. Basically impossible to not get hit. And don't get me started on the rail-shooter for agent 9 on that level. Overall I feel like the first one was a decently faithful remake, but they just got worse from there. I'm glad I completed them all, but damn. Made me start looking at retro mods for the ps2 collecting dust.

Spyro 3 is one of my favorite games of all time but the remake is so aggravating; the animations are extremely stiff and lazy, it’s buggy, the NPC and rhynocs are poorly designed and the sound effects are soooo dull. The controls also feel weird. I was so deeply disappointed because I was looking forward to it the most out of all the reignited games. I know it’s because it was rushed but still… so unfortunate

Spyro 3 reignited was one of the worst experiences I ever had with the series. I remember people always calling the original a buggy rushed mess, but I had 3R glitch out on me at least once in almost every single level. I did play it on launch so hopefully they fixed some of it, but that's not even mentioning some of the weird and horrendous art design decisions they made. I think 1R is the only one I'd consider replaying again if I didn't have the originals.
