It wasn't Samsung, it was a German company that had Samsung as a client. They chose a cheap Fiver gig to save money, tried to hush it up by striking the video and were probably too stupid to read the English bit in the description (where the whole "this will be used in a video" was noted). Know the best bit? Their twitter is dead. That ad was the last video they uploaded and they got tons of shit in the comments, tried to report/strike those comments too and haven't posted anything ever since. They even removed the twitter link from their website.

He's right about that selling yourself short thing. It's a big issue in the modeling industry as well, being a model doesn't pay well because they expect you to do it for free with the excuse that the experience and photos can be used in your portfolio...they literally pay you in clout! So the issue is that majority of offers you get are the same type, either "free" clout or product/clothing so you end up with nothing or items that cannot pay the bills. Don't sell yourself short because you're not only selling yourself out but also lowering the bar for the entire industry you're in. If you can't even make a living out of doing it professionally than make it a side gig and not your main source of income, know your worth and don't diminish it out of desperation. It will not become a career unless you are the top 1% the best of the best even then you may struggle so hold out now, set your rates and make them desperate for your work otherwise you'd just be allowing established companies to get away with taking advantage of you. Basically? Everyone will try to screw you out of your money if given the opportunity to, don't let them.

There is this anecdote of a famous painter (I think it was picasso) painting portraits on the street. A woman asks him how much hed like and he says 300 dollars. She agrees sits down and he finishes a beautiful portrait of her in 30 minuites. Even though its really beautiful she feels scammed because he only took 30 minuites and 30 minuites cant hardly be worth 300 dollar. She asks him why she paid 300 dollar for 30 minuites of his time. It's great that you're educating about the value of training in the amount you earn. The same applies to other field of work like translating, arts, music etc. where people only see the short time of work that's "visible". For example, in translating you spend years gaining language knowledge, hours of making the proper decisions on problematic parts of the text and overall learning more about it, finally having to proofread it. Not selling yourself short is important people, you've spent time gaining all the knowledge you have, just like Connor said!
