It's been a while since I played One Hour One Life so it's time to jump back into it and explore the numerous updates that came out since the last time I played. About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore.
This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears.
And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

The one time I turned into the mad queen I spent my entire life making a really cute vineyard area with cobblestone I mined myself and I came back near the end and someone demolished it and made a shittier one close by. It hurt my heart so bad I demolished their new one. People need to be more considerate and think before they make such decisions, esp when confronted nicely. Four compost piles don’t outweigh someone’s storyline and efforts.

Yeah that's my biggest issue with this game. You'll be in the process of doing something, and they'll come along and just take the resources you're using or destroy something you're doing. Once I spent several lives building a grill room for open fire cooking because the kitchen was a bit too small for it and the town was pretty stable. Literally right before I finished someone came in and started trying to convert it into a storage because they wanted a storage room and didn't want to build their own. And some people are allergic to fun. Lol like so what you want to a have a shrine in the sheep pen surrounded by dung? The world keeps spinning. He could've gotten his own dung for compost

I had a situation just like this. Asked nicely for him to stop. Had a kid. Came back a few minutes later and he'd destroyed 2 hours worth of work. We had an argument he tried to kill me in front of the leader got exiled for it. Then spent the rest of his life telling people that the leader exiled him for nothing. It's one of the most annoying things for me. People taking your stuff, not returning your stuff or people destroying your stuff without asking just because it doesn't fit 'THEIR' plan.

Justice is relative. You MUST follow your convictions in life, so you did what had to be done. I was accused of bigotry in a game and a dude got a bunch of people against me and murdered me. I spent most of my life just working the farm. Was a peaceful life until that guy. Makes me wonder how many people in real life, experience injustice, and it goes without ever being rectified. This game does get a bit too realistic at times, but thats what makes it interesting!!!

i agree Twisted, i stopped playing this game for 2 yrs because of assholes that dont care what other ppl are doing, they just take what they want and it makes the game so unenjoyable! 100% on your side

I'd almost understand the guy of you were small town who really needed the resources, but that's not the case. People build strip clubs in this game because it's silly and fun. Building a poop shine take far fewer resources than that. Just let people have their fun. You weren't hurting anything.

I have had terrible experiences with bossy tryhard players too, but that was a terrible spot for a shrine anyways lol. I would have moved the grave to a special spot on the graveyard, with the griefer grave marker and surrounded with the dung around so they will know it has a purpose and let it be.

I've literally had this game in my library for two years now and have gone through the tutorial, watched all your one hour one life vids, but I haven't actually played the game, too scared to mess up and have folks get upset/frustrated XD

@HomburgHatter they would surprise you, give it a go watch and eat yum if your out of the way and can recognize work stations you won't step on so many toes, ask your ma to teach you wht she was doing when u were born

I was looking forward to this video to see your side of the story. I had no clue you were Stella until I looked you up on oholcurse the day after, to get a better sense of the kind of players you and Brandon were. Brandon had 20+ curses & knowing you, I thought there’s likely going to be a reason for your behaviour. Glad it turned out to be true as Brandon really was a jerk. That being said, I very nearly cursed you on the spot when you stabbed him (and later was shocked to find Stella was you). As you yourself acknowledge, all I saw was you chasing and harassing a dude over some poop. You never explained about your mother’s grave. As far as I (or the others, judging by their reaction) knew, you were a leader taking it out on a dude who accidentally took some dung from you. If you just stopped for a second and explained more properly, I’m sure the town’s reaction would have been very different. As it was, it was just an off-putting experience for everyone involved. Later, I found your note for your mother, but the poop was either gone again or I never connected it to the incident.

Yeah, for sure 100% I feel like it would be very hard and time consuming to explain the full story ingame just using OHOL's chat and not come off as a psychopath though lol. Also I just wanted to rant rather than go around explaining and bothering people with my drama.

@@jirtz5 yes, after seeing this video I understand why Twisted was upset - who wouldn’t be in his place. But if he remembered that it wasn’t just him and Brandon in the town and that his actions were going to be perceived and judged by others, he could’ve tried to make his case and maybe he’d actually get support and Brandon some more curses. Instead, he just argued with Brandon and looked like the asshole in the situation, because Brandon was seemingly trying to deescalate (running away, doing tasks, asking to be left alone), while Twisted chased him around with a knife and spouted some wonderful lines like for example when he said he had more hours in the game than Brandon and so knew better than him. 😬 Without the context of the video and Twisted’s commentary, the situation looked very different.

Reminds me of a time I was helping someone make a rocket and had all the glass lined up and was standing next to the forge to light it and someone took the glass I was using and made a bottle (even though the town already had bottles)… I followed he around for a bit asking her to apologize and she told me I was stupid for working on projects lol…. She exiled me so I cursed her, only regret it a bit because I really didn’t mean to get that upset lol. But yea, people being asses and then acting against you for arguing about their assholery is really annoying. I feel you twisted

Starting off the new year with a new Twisted ohol video 😎 Edit after watching: Holy sheep dung, that escalated at the end lol. I can understand the disagreement and that guy's point-of-view (I could imagine the ohol Twisted from five years ago perhaps agreeing with him). But yeah, personally, I think at this stage in the game the real fun comes from the little storylines and quasi roleplaying that happens between players, and that guy was definitely being a bit of a party pooper (pun intended). Plus, the party pooper cursed first, so this, I think, is a fine casus belli for a counter curse (though, threatening to exile and kill him proved to be a PR nightmare in that town lol)
