I respect the absolute hell out of these people. They stepped well outside of their comfort zone, have put in the effort, have been really supportive of each other, and have been really showing some great improvements. I wish them all the absolute best and hope they can feel a great sense of pride and self respect by the end. They deserve to if they make it through. Even if they drop out it's fine. (I just know how toxic chat can be about shit like that sometimes.) So long as they remember it's okay to stop but not okay to quit. If you get back in there later, you never quit. You just took a protracted break. We all need breaks sometimes.

I agree. i have lost 123 pounds since i started at the gym in september last year, and as much as going to the gym 5 times a week has become part of my daily routine, at first it was not easy at all, i was afraid, it was very insecure , but as this guy said (17:55), at the gym you will find a lot of people who will help you and I thank each one of the professionals who helped me get here. I started at the gym with 366 pounds and now I'm 242 pounds, and what makes me more motivated is the fact that I'm still a little far from my goal but I'm not satisfied with what I've achieved so far, and step by step, day after day I'm a little closer to get there. Camp Knut was sensational, I didn't miss any episode and I'm sure it made a few people to come out of a sedentary lifestyle.
@77dris2 жыл бұрын
Good for you! I've never been obese, only slightly overweight and even I found it hard to go back to the gym when I got out of shape. It was almost like I felt I needed to get in to shape to go to the gym and get into shape. LOL. The Catch 22. I have way more respect for the people like you who have a lot to lose (and thus a lot to gain) than I do for the genetic freaks who don't need to work hard, and usually don't as they resort to drugs and are lazy in the gym.

"Motivation only goes so far. Determination gets you the rest of the way." 💪 All of you need to get that in your head. I was 185lb at like 15 for a 5’2kid. I was fucking obese. 2 years later, I grew like 2 inches😢, but I lost a lot of weight and am now at 135-140lb. Took me a year to get to that point. Half of that 1 year I started to not see as much progress as I did starting off, got hella sad, but I was determined to get stronger and leaner and more confident in myself, because you can feel intimidated by other gym rats who are like 6ft and 190lb of pure muscle. I didn’t feel confident doing bench presses, squats, or curls. Until you know, I was determined to get to my goal. So I did bench, squat, etc… no matter if it was a weak one. About 3-6months into it, my bench went from like 75lb to 140lb- Squat went from 115lb to 225lb. Throughout the year I went from probably 30% bf to 15%. Seeing veins I’ve never seen before.

I have long covid and one of the major, life-altering symptoms I've been struck with is parosmia. Most foods smell and taste like rotting onions and spoiled meat, so now all I eat is rice, chickpeas, zucchini, tomatoes, Greek yogurt, and some berries. Its been a great motivator to eat better (because I have to or I puke), but now I'm more motivated to get back into the gym grind. I danced competitively for 10 years and then I fell off because of a lot of life events. Happy yall are putting this out there, even if it motivates and inspires just one person. 🤟

I started bodybuilding about four months ago with my 6'2 Norwegian friend that stayed with me for months at my place when he got stranded in the states getting his permanent resident status during COVID lockdowns. My bench press has tripled to 160lbs, I can already lift 240lbs pectoral fly, and 55lb curls, 360lb V-squats. I regularly do 160lb lateral raises twelve times for four sets. I just recently started to do bodyweight pullups and dips at 230lbs after starting with 150lbs of assistance months ago. All I need to do is go into a caloric deficit to lose maybe 10-15lbs and I'll look ripped at 6'4, and I hadn't gone to the gym regularly in over ten years. I go to the gym from three to seven times a week with friends. My advice get a gym buddy invest in yourself and your confidence will skyrocket. When I started this journey I was in serious depression from the loss of my dad, and now I'm the most confident I've ever been, and know now that I'm making him and my biological father that I lost in infancy both proud since they both were strong bodybuilders. It is great that you are inspiring more to try bodybuilding.
