hirman 11 yeah I feel like it’s more socially acceptable for girls to dress as guys since well, we already wear pants and stuff whereas guys usually don’t wear dresses and skirts. I know my community theatre regularly casts girls as male character but never the other way around, and I’ve seen girls dress as guys for Halloween but not the other way around. It’s kind of unfair really

Black drag king culture and history of drag kings is very different and has a much longer history, with more of an emphasis on masculine aesthetics and sexuality. There are some great videos about drag king culture and history that are very different from what this video portrays. Interesting to see how the term is defined by different groups. This seems to have a stronger emphasis on drag performance as art or performance.
