Well this year for a long time they put a stop on HSE hiring but only in Ireland they went out to hire people to come here from other countries while telling nurses and doctors they aren't hiring them.

Waiting times have not fallen .....massaging the figures as usual....I’m now 5 years waiting for an orthopaedic app...I waited 41/2 years for my appointment with cardiologist & had to pay privately to have an angio scan as the waiting list was so long...

All these politicians should spend a night in A&E and they would soon realise how broken the health system is. As for the mental health system. That's beyond broken. That's grand standing from Boyd Barrett but he is right in what he's saying. It's not about throwing money at it, it's about how badly managed it is and how under resourced it is and it was let decline for years.

In France you have one number on which you can track your health history. At the hospital they have computers!! to track all your details. In Ireland UHL, you have people paid to push trolleys full of paper files, files get lost, all is paper based, 19th century at best.... and it is only the tip of the iceberg. You can get more people, it will never be enough. The system is not lean and efficient. And cherry on the top we have now new friends from abroad with medical needs who are draining the health system even more without contributing to any tax.

The reality is regarding hiring health care workers is that the taoiseach does not reveal that the government are hiring private companies to provide health care in the hospitals not hiring health care workers on contracts within the hospital setting
