Iris had an interest in Theia and Proto, knowing Proto's potential, but they saw X getting ejected and left by Poseidon so their interest shifted slightly to take attention to X and in the future, Neptune :) Their first interaction started with X being terrified of Iris, but things ended alright enough for them to become 'partners' over the years

Basically, in the first scene, X wants the planets to recognise them as a planet again when he is able to formally return since they know they weren't very popular in the past. In the next two scenes, Thanatos/X is just talking with Poseidon/Neptune and Caelus/Uranus; just a show of their relationship. However, Thanatos argues with Zeus/Jupiter a lot and it then moves to Thanatos being shocked by Cronus/Saturn's new rings, which they knew didn't just 'come into existence'. Then at the final scene, Caelus and Poseidon disappear from Thanatos' life. Caelus disappeared earlier because he was pressured to agree to the ejection but Poseidon disappeared later once he saw Thanatos get ejected. Then it all moves to present day, after Iris already made contact with X!
