Love these! FYI, my husband and I are married almost 40 years. And we always tell the kids when they're getting married that mishaps and steps make for great wedding stories in the years to come!

Those poor brides 😢 As a MIL to 3 I am embarrassed of that MIL in the last story. 🤬 Giving us a bad name.

Similar thing happened to my brother. When his friends threw him his bachelor party, one “friend” hired a stripper even though my brother had requested no strippers. My dad & my brothers never thought to treat women as sex objects…they respected them. So yeah, the “friend” got the stripper more for himself than for my brother…they took photos & it’s obvious that my brother was uncomfortable but didn’t want to ruin the party. This same “friend” was also hired to be their videographer…he set up the camera in the choir loft, then proceeded to laugh & talk during the ceremony making rude comments about the bride, like her wearing white. He basically ruined their wedding video. Why they continued to be friends with this man I will never know. Nobody in our family liked him as he was a total jerk.

I really hope that you do make a series of that one. I love how the husband kept standing up to his mom over and over. That is how you know it’s going to be okay because he will always be there together with his wife and mom needs to get on board respecting his family or there will be distance. My husband never stood up like that because he wanted me to stand up for myself. He agreed with me and didn’t let his mother roll over us, but he thought he was helping me get tough. It took YEARS for him to realize that I can’t defend my boundaries and I’m horrible at confrontation because of past abuse. I need him to help me speak up. We’ve finally got it, but it took a lot.

The second story I would have disinvited them from the wedding or kicked them out. I would have gone ahead with the photos as schedule & not made allowances for them. It was her wedding day...if they couldn't be there on time, tough luck. It's not about them, it's about the bride & groom. After all of that, I would have gone low or no contact with them as they disrespect the hell out of the couple. The bride is now his immediate family while the mom & sister became extended family. I'm surprised he didn't kick his mom out after what she pulled on the dance floor.

I just got married. The craziness that happened before the ceremony is insane. I’m a relaxed woman but that tested me…. I think I’ll write you!

My wedding was in the town that my inlaws lived in because we were getting married in the church that my MIL was pastor of. So the night before the wedding my husband and I stayed in separate bedrooms in the parsonage and the rest of the bridal party stayed in a nearby hotel. We decorated the church hall the night before the wedding and just wanted to go to bed so when my parents, the maid of honor, and best man left for the night they ended up at the same bar. My dad told me the next day that they had the best stag party without the groom. but on the day of the wedding the best man was an hour late, so I had to question how drunk he was and if anyone saw him get back to the hotel. It turns out that he thought he should get his car washed just incase it was in any of the wedding photos. NO it wasn't in any photos and we had to leave for the wedding photo shoot without him leaving a message with a friend of the family that was already at the parsonage to send him to meet us if he arrived. We're still friends with him and 25 years later, it's funny but it was definitely not funny on the wedding day! The baker loosing our prepaid cake order and our having to bring him the prepaid receipt to prove we were supposed to get a cake the next day wasn't funny either.

First story: Seems like some planners of batchelor and batchelorette parties are looking for a wild party, complete with strippers, way too much alcohol, and bad behavior. Almost like they want to ruin the wedding. Story #2: That MIL is one toxic person. The thing is, word gets around during and after an event like that, and a lot of people will be made aware of what she tried to pull, with the DJ, etc. I'm glad the couple has such a good attitude.
