True, bought a refurbished A51 (unlocked) last year from ebay for 130€. Came in 2 days and it had a brand new display, battery, and back camera lense. Only the backcover was used which wasnt an issue since it was going to be used with a case anyways.

I’ve bought phones on eBay refurbished. 30 to 60 days return window and one year of Allstate warranty. The best deal I ever got was back in December 2022. A 512 GB Samsung Galaxy Z fold 4 it was factory unlocked and you could tell because when you turned it on I never saw any carrier splash screen. It was listed at $949 but because there was a 15% coupon eBay was offering that the seller was also accepting the price went down and I paid about $900 with taxes for that phone. And let me tell you I’m not sure if that phone was a return or something but it was flawless. Not as much as a scratch around the charging port. In the end I sold it five months later and I’ve regretted it ever since.

Problem is Amazon renewed get you a 90-day return window and you can exchange it by driving to like your local UPS or Kohl's or something and get the money back right away. eBay your mileage is going to vary depending on the seller although this is a mitigate if you if you're going through their official refurbished program. No anecdotally I've had two terrible experiences on eBay. I got my money back but times but it took forever.

if you expect perfect product/experience, don't buy renewed, personally i expect a used phone, Scratched body, and the screen (if it is old) replaced, and when we say replaced screen, it will not be the same as the original, so your best bet is buying a renewed not so old phone, not more than 2 years, it will still have the original screen, minor scratches and the price is lower, the battery will still be a good one, if it is replaced, especially on iphones, it becomes a joke. now there is always a risk buying renewed, if you want a phone because you fell in love with it and you really want it, i would go with a new one, no bad surprises.

Didn’t get an Amazon refurbished phone, but i did get my m1 iPad as an amazon refurbished; works great 2 years on, battery shipped with a high 95%(ish) health and my only qualms were the usb-c charging brick that committed suicide within 4 days and the puny 4” or so c-c cord that made the cable you get with Alcatel flip phones look like pure luxury.

I've probably bought 4 or 5 phones from Amazon renewed and my experience was there's a catch on them all. I bought an iPhone 11 that had aftermarket parts including the screen which affected its daily use. Sent it back. Got a few Androids including a Pixel 6 which was mostly fine but an S21 FE that you couldn't use on calls to the ear because there was literally not much sound. I only bought from highly rated sellers and each of them were probably using aftermarket parts. To me, it just isn't worth it to buy these renewed phones and you truly get what you pay for. A brand new budget phone like a Samsung A15 5g is way better than any renewed device. Just one man's opinion.

Honestly eBay has way better deals going than Amazon overall in my opinion. Bought my OnePlus 10 pro for $230 off there and its brand new in every aspect except minor screen burn in you don't see unless you're looking extremely close and hard.

I have bought multiple phones through Amazon renewed and they were all in perfect condition. The 90 day return window alleviates any concerns about getting scammed as I have plenty of time to make sure the phone is in good condition. Can't recommend the renewed program enough

What is "renewed" or refurbished about these phones? Does throwing someones old used phone in a box with a new generic cable make it "renewed"? If they wanted us to at least believe they were refurbished in some way (even the batteries are apparently original) they could clean the earwax out?

I got a renewed Pixel 7 Pro for a fantastic deal and it was in literally perfect condition. It had 100% battery health and still had the google plastic screen wrap on it. If you told me the phone was new I wouldn’t have been able to tell otherwise.

I bought an excellent refurb iPhone 15 Pro Max from Amazon Renewed. The screen was replaced with a genuine Apple part which is good but they forgot to reseal the waterproof glue. Heavy rain water seep in and fogged up the lenses (front and back) while I was on vacation and ruined 5 days worth of photos

7:46 pre-installed screen protectors are a massive red flag. it physically and cognitively covers up any screen imperfections so the user can easily miss them and even think of it as a positive.

Loving this, check out the resold Ebay stuff! IDK if ebay themselves buy the phones and resell them but you can get 1-2 year old phones for like 800$ off MSRP. I only did that once with a foldable phone and it worked fine! Though one good experience is hardly a test.

I used a Oneplus 6 for over 6 years and was needing a new phone as mine had gotten really slow. Bought an Amazon renewed Pixel 7 for $250 a month ago and it was virtually brand new looking. Everything works great and fast. If I didn't know I would honestly think it was a brand new phone that was just released. Couldn't bring myself to spend $500-$1000 on a new phone, and I felt like I got an absolute steal.

I bought an iphone 11 from Amazon renewed. Had it for a week, dropped it once (it had a case and screen protector), and broke. The screen broke but there were no cracks. Luckily I had a warranty so I will be receiving a new one. What I learned from it is that the phones are pretty sensitive.

I think the Moto edge is more like a mid-range edge plus had a flagship chip. The also had a regular edge which had a mid-range chip I forget exactly which one maybe a 778 I think or something.

i bought a Amazon Used-Like New condition motherboard and had to return it. It worked fine except for some reason the network driver and adaptor were non-existent on it. I tried for literally 9hrs straight to try and get the network adaptor to work and installing and reinstalling the drivers, everything I could think of and it just refused to work. IDK what the past owner did to the motherboard but it was f'ed. I returned it and just bought a new one that wasn't used and it's working fine.

I bought 7 iPhones Amazon Renewed over the years. 5 were excellent as listed. 2 recent iPhone 13s were bad. One was made for Korean/Chinese market so was region restricted (Find My was permanently disabled...) and another had a broken Ultrawide/Macro camera and showed a warning of "non genuine non Apple part". So chances are you will get a great renewed phone and save a lot of money, but there's a small risk of getting a dud. Thankfully, Amazon returns are easy for a full refund.

Looks like it shows pretty much what you can expect. In all likelihood if you go to buy a refurbished device from there/amazon certified or whatever, chances are its going to be in the condition you expected it to be when making the purchase. Also a good video that shows on the off chance you may actually run into something that is worse than expected, but at least they give you plenty time to return it if you feel like its not acceptable(definitely would send back something like the last phone) TL;DR: Most likely good, smaller chance of running into something not so ideal. Option to return if so.

I am currently using an Amazon Renewed Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.... It's flawless. I'll definitely buy another Amazon Renewed device. The only things I cared about were the screen, the battery and the functionality of the device. My phones always go in a case.

I bought an s21 ultra back in 2023 and I'm still using it to this day. Amazing condition and has worked flawlessly since purchase. Only issue is the charging port was a bit wonky but I charge overnight wirelessly. One question, Wade re the renewed company. Is there a way to find most reliable dealers on Amazon? I bought a refurbished iPhone 5S a very long time ago. It had a very bad battery which went flat at 40%. Immediately returned for a full refund and I didn't buy another one. I've had a Samsung Galaxy S9 which also had a bad battery and an iPhone 12 that turns off 20 times a day (CPU fault). But it beats taking a chance on Facebook Marketplace at least. I prefer to get electronics and computer parts from a store in the UK called CeX. They do 5 year warranties on most stuff. That's better than most car companies.

These phones all come with bad batteries, either because the oem doesn't make them anymore or the reseller put the cheapest batteries who could get in them. So the battery on these is never the same as when the phone as new, which for me makes it a bad deal. It's the same as buying a used phone.

Mostly the screen will crack so easily with these kind of phones because they replaced them with cheap screens, not the original gorilla glass or victus, and that's the main problem, usually the phone will crack on the first week or two, something else, you may not get the same camera quality for the same reason, and that's obvious if you compare the camera with another same original phone. So I don't recommend these phones at all. Buying a used one is much safer.

Where did you buy it from? Swappa auto-checks IMEI numbers for outstanding balances, and Amazon Renewed devices have to be unlocked as well. Buying from eBay or Facebook Marketplace is always a risk, but you can also check IMEI numbers for free online yourself to see if a phone has a balance, was stolen, locked, etc.
