Yes, yes, yes, yes to the auction. I think we need a solid auction that is fully transparent about what you're buying BEFORE you buy it! I cant think of a better candidate for starting such a company! I also have to say that throughout the years, you have become one of my top 5 favorite youtube channels and I always look forward to a new video release! Its always icing on the cake when Craig shows up as well because you two are awesome together and you can definitely tell there is a true brotherly love there. Love both you guys and I hope that y'all always do these little Cameo videos together!
@kameljoe2110 ай бұрын
While a fully transparent auction is a nice idea it wont work because there will be too many conservative people who just wont bid on a bike that needs work or a mint bike because they want to get a good deal. More time and effort will be put in to each bike rather than in to the auction and it will take far more time than its worth. People forget the labor and hours it takes to set up an auction and the amount of money they invest in to promoting said auction. If you think that the auctions make a huge amount of money. They do yet a lot of it goes out in marketing. A motorcycle auction takes a long time to set up and to have enough bikes to put up for auction. Its a limited type of an auction.

Watch for the "chocolate cams" on those. The oil for the heads is riuted directly from the clutch basket, before any filtration can occur, took the dealers in the uk to figure this out as they just kept eating cams. They were replacing cams thinking it was faulty "chocolatey metal" at first. But it was just the clutch dust essentially sanding the cams away. Honda rushed them out to market to have something to compete against the suzuki katana and never did get round to fixing the issue at the factory. Within months of release the cbx750 appeared which says rather a lot about this bike. It was very innovative with the v4 beam frame and strange multi piece wheels! but a bit too innovative! Theres a modifcation you can do to take the oil from the main gallery at the bottom of the motor. Same on the magnas sabre etc. which is a different crank and firing but same engine. The first editions with the bolted multi piece wheels were a bit of an issue too as if you wheelied one and came down too hard the tyre would grab the fork as the wheel bent...coupled with the slightly nightmarish antidive and floppy frame it would try to kill you just a little bit dead. The really cool bit was the 180 degree crank, 1-4-3-2 firing order (same as thebhinda racing v4s) and the weight ,it was incredibly light for its day , its essentially the first supersport bike for the road but was sadly a truly terrible bike as a package. The vfr that followed is the real honda masterpiece. They sound amazing on song but you would pay for it in fuel!

I had a Suzuki RE-5 Wankel rotary back in the early 80's and I wish I had never gotten rid of it. Smoothest bike I ever rode. If I remember right they only made them for two years 1974 and 1975. Big heavy bike and they were only rated at 500cc to get them around the import tax they only measured one side of the rotor instead of all three. It used a special spark plug that was like 10 or 12 dollars apiece in 1980. When the rotor tips went bad oil would foul the plug and you were dead in the water! Never could get them clean enough to use again. God I loved that bike!

Dude, I love both channels between you and Craig, but seriously….. you guys have on screen chemistry that’s on par with Clarkson, Hammond, and May! You guys are meant to be together.

SRK Auctions! That sounds like a game changer for bike auctions, do all the charts as well like market value, condition and milage in a single frame for every one to see at a glance. You have integrity and that's what you found missing from bike auctions in the past, correcting that issue alone will define the auctions you do. Everything else is just the icing on the cake, don't get me wrong, it's appreciated, but more the defining touches instead of the real tangible correction of a flawed system. I'm expecting you already have irons in the fire with this idea so I am wishing you the best with the makers help you might become the trustworthy bearded bike auction guy everyone will need to watch to know exactly what you're buying before the hammer falls.

In my 20s, I owned a V65 Magna. In my 40s, I owned a Bandit 1200S. Now that I'm 60, I bought a mint 2006 XL1200L Screaming Eagle Sportster with 9k miles for $3500 with cushy upgraded seat with quick detach Harley wind shield and sissy bar/luggage rack. Love that motor.

What an eclectic collection of auction bikes! It’s fun seeing what you’ve found. So far my favorites in this video are the R80 - very interesting, not sure I’m into them as much as the going prices but very cool, the Sherpa is cool too but I think it’s possibly missing the road seat? 🤷♂️ such a shame the Suzuki rotary wasn’t good it’d be cool to experience that one, I’ve heard there’s a bit of a flywheel effect so it’ll be interesting when it’s running to see if that’s the case. Also while the Rune can be a little polarizing on the styling it sure sounds good 😀 Loved the video PS I watch Craig’s videos too and they’re great too. Crazy idea, you know he’s been getting these old bikes going and he makes an entertaining and sometimes informative video,😬but it might be crazy cool if you worked in a skit like a mystery dealer like he’s addicted to fixing old bike and meet him like a cameo in weird circumstances or places to get a new bike to fix. 🤣🤣

My good fortune to see one of those chromed Honda Z50 MiniTrails--about 7 yrs ago at local independent bike mechanic shop. Fellow told me each Honda dealer got one of them. Also saw a Suzuki RE-5 at a friend's independent bike dealership--at least 15 yrs ago.

Nice bikes. the Honda V45 is about 701 CC...that engine was the smaller version of the V65 and used in Sabre and Magna as well. Great Content. God Bless.

My dad used to have a Honda VF 1000 interceptor grey import from canada. And just the starting sound alone from the V750 brought back so much memories.

Man this guy is my role model! I love Auctions, and I love Bikes. Unfortunately after having 2 kids and being married I've not the extra funds to buy a bike and my area doesn't do Bike Auctions. The car auction never has bikes. Go figure. I inspire to be like Sean. Way to go brother. You are awesome.

Lots of great bikes out there for less than $5000 in the used market.
